주 크신 뜻 깨닫게 하옵소서

내 고통의 멍에를 다 벗게 되니

날 구속하신 이름 찬양하리

2.주 우리를 곁에서 인도하시니

그 거룩한 나라가 이뤄지네

저 마귀와 싸워서 늘 승리하니

큰 영광 주께 돌려 찬양하리

3.주 우리의 방패와 창검 되시니

나 승리의 주님을 따릅니다

큰 환난을 당할 때 늘 도우시니

[우리말성경]

1.  젊은 시절에 너는 네 창조자를 기억하여라. 고통의 날들이 닥치기 전에 “인생에 낙이 없다”고 할 때가 오기 전에

2.  해와 빛과 달과 별들이 어두워지기 전에, 비 온 후에 다시 먹구름이 끼기 전에 그렇게 하여라.

3.  그때가 되면 집 지키다가 손이 떨리고 다리에 힘이 빠져 엎어지고 이가 몇 개 안 남아 씹지 못하고 눈이 침침해져 창문 밖으로 보이는 게 없어진다.

4.  또 거리로 나가는 문들이 닫히고 곡식 가는 소리가 어렴풋해지고 새 소리에 일어나며 노래하는 모든 딸들이 조용하게 될 것이다. 또 거리의 문들이 닫히고 맷돌 소리가 낮아질 것이며

5.  또 높은 곳을 두려워하게 되고 길에 나다니기조차 무서워하며 머리 위에는 허옇게 꽃이 피고 메뚜기도 짐이 되며 욕망이 더는 일어나지 않을 그때, 그때가 되면 사람은 자신의 영원한 고향으로 가고 조문객들이 슬퍼하며 거리를 다니는 것이다.

6.  그분을 기억하여라. 은줄이 끊어지기 전에, 금 대접이 부서지기 전에, 물 항아리가 샘 곁에서 깨어지기 전에, 우물가의 도르래가 부서지기 전에,

7.  육체가 본래 왔던 흙으로 돌아가기 전에, 영이 그것을 주신 하나님께로 돌아가기 전에 그분을 기억하여라.

8.  전도자가 말한다. “허무하고 허무하다. 모든 것이 허무하다!”

모든 일의 결론

9.  전도자는 지혜로울 뿐 아니라 사람들에게 지식을 가르쳤으며 묵상하고 연구해 많은 잠언을 정리했다.

10.  전도자가 연구해 합당한 말들을 찾아냈으니 그가 기록한 것은 올바른 것이고 진리의 말씀이다.

11.  지혜로운 사람의 말은 찌르는 채찍 같고 회중의 선생들이 단단히 박은 못과 같다. 이 모두가 한 목자에게서 받은 것이다.

12.  내 아들아, 이것들 외에도 더 훈계를 받도록 하여라. 책은 아무리 많이 써도 끝이 없고 연구를 많이 하는 것은 몸을 지치게 한다.

13.  모든 것의 결론은 이것이다. 하나님을 경외하고 그분의 계명을 지켜라. 이것이 사람의 본분이다.

14.  하나님께서는 선악 간에 모든 행위를 그 숨은 일까지도 낱낱이 심판하신다.

[NASB]

1.  Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near when you will say, "I have no delight in them";

2.  before the sun, the light, the moon, and the stars are darkened, and clouds return after the rain;

3.  in the day that the watchmen of the house tremble, and mighty men stoop, the grinding ones stand idle because they are few, and those who look through windows grow dim;

4.  and the doors on the street are shut as the sound of the grinding mill is low, and one will arise at the sound of the bird, and all the daughters of song will sing softly.

5.  Furthermore, men are afraid of a high place and of terrors on the road; the almond tree blossoms, the grasshopper drags himself along, and the caperberry is ineffective. For man goes to his eternal home while mourners go about in the street.

6.  [Remember Him] before the silver cord is broken and the golden bowl is crushed, the pitcher by the well is shattered and the wheel at the cistern is crushed;

7.  then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.

8.  "Vanity of vanities," says the Preacher, "all is vanity!"

9.  In addition to being a wise man, the Preacher also taught the people knowledge; and he pondered, searched out and arranged many proverbs.

10.  The Preacher sought to find delightful words and to write words of truth correctly.

11.  The words of wise men are like goads, and masters of [these] collections are like well-driven nails; they are given by one Shepherd.

12.  But beyond this, my son, be warned: the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion [to books] is wearying to the body.

13.  The conclusion, when all has been heard, [is:] fear God and keep His commandments, because this [applies to] every person.

14.  For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.

[히브리어]

1.  וזכר את בוראיך בימי בחורתיך עד אשר לא יבאו ימי הרעה והגיעו שנים אשר תאמר אין לי בהם חפץ׃

2.  עד אשר לא תחשך השמש והאור והירח והכוכבים ושבו העבים אחר הגשם׃

3.  ביום שיזעו שמרי הבית והתעותו אנשי החיל ובטלו הטחנות כי מעטו וחשכו הראות בארבות׃

4.  וסגרו דלתים בשוק בשפל קול הטחנה ויקום לקול הצפור וישחו כל בנות השיר׃

5.  גם מגבה יראו וחתחתים בדרך וינאץ השקד ויסתבל החגב ותפר האביונה כי הלך האדם אל בית עולמו וסבבו בשוק הספדים׃

8.  הבל הבלים אמר הקוהלת הכל הבל׃

9.  ויתר שהיה קהלת חכם עוד למד דעת את העם ואזן וחקר תקן משלים הרבה׃

10.  בקש קהלת למצא דברי חפץ וכתוב ישר דברי אמת׃

11.  דברי חכמים כדרבנות וכמשמרות נטועים בעלי אספות נתנו מרעה אחד׃

12.  ויתר מהמה בני הזהר עשות ספרים הרבה אין קץ ולהג הרבה יגעת בשר׃

13.  סוף דבר הכל נשמע את האלהים ירא ואת מצותיו שמור כי זה כל האדם׃

14.  כי את כל מעשה האלהים יבא במשפט על כל נעלם אם טוב ואם רע׃

Sing praises to his name; he forgets not his own.

So from the beginning the fight we were winning:

You, Lord, were at our side; all glory be yours!
