1 또 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨습니다. "너와 아론과 나답과 아비후와 이스라엘의 장로 칠십 명은 나 여호와에게 올라와서 멀리서 나를 예배하여라. 1 Then he said to Moses, 'Come up to the LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel. You are to worship at a distance, 2 그런 다음 너 모세만 여호와께 가까이 나아오너라. 다른 사람들은 가까이 오지 말고, 백성도 모세를 따라 이 산으로 올라오지 마라." 2 but Moses alone is to approach the LORD; the others must not come near. And the people may not come up with him.' 3 모세는 백성에게 여호와의 모든 말씀과 규례를 전해 주었습니다. 그러자 모든 백성이 한 목소리로 대답했습니다. "우리는 여호와께서 하신 말씀을 그대로 따르겠습니다." 3 When Moses went and told the people all the LORD's words and laws, they responded with one voice, "Everything the LORD has said we will do." 4 모세는 여호와의 말씀을 다 적었습니다. 이튿날 모세는 아침 일찍 일어나서 산기슭에 제단을 쌓았습니다. 그리고 이스라엘의 열두 지파를 위하여 돌 열두 개를 쌓았습니다. 4 Moses then wrote down everything the LORD had said. He got up early the next morning and built an altar at the foot of the mountain and set up twelve stone pillars representing the twelve tribes of Israel. 5 모세는 이스라엘 백성 가운데서 젊은이들을 보내 태워 드리는 제물인 번제물을 바치게 했습니다. 그들은 또 화목 제물로 여호와께 소를 바쳤습니다. 5 Then he sent young Israelite men, and they offered burnt offerings and sacrificed young bulls as fellowship offerings to the LORD. 6 모세는 피를 가져다가 그 중 절반은 그릇에 담고, 나머지 절반은 제단 위에 뿌렸습니다. 6 Moses took half of the blood and put it in bowls, and the other half he sprinkled on the altar. 7 그리고 모세는 언약의 책을 가져다가 백성에게 읽어 주었습니다. 그러자 백성은 "우리는 여호와께서 하신 말씀을 그대로 따르겠습니다. 우리는 주님께 복종하겠습니다"라고 말했습니다. 7 Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They responded, 'We will do everything the LORD has said; we will obey.' 8 모세는 그릇에 담긴 피를 가지고 백성에게 뿌리며 말했습니다. "이 피는 이 모든 말씀에 대하여 여호와께서 너희와 맺는 언약의 피다." 8 Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said, 'This is the blood of the covenant that the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words.' 9 모세와 아론과 나답과 아비후와 이스라엘의 장로 칠십 명은 산으로 올라갔습니다. 9 Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up 10 그들은 이스라엘의 하나님을 보았습니다. 하나님의 발 아래는 마치 청옥을 깔아 놓은 것처럼 보였고 그것은 마치 하늘처럼 맑았습니다. 10 and saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of sapphire, clear as the sky itself. 11 이스라엘의 지도자들은 하나님을 보았습니다. 하지만 하나님께서는 그들을 멸망시키지 않으셨고, 그들은 함께 먹고 마셨습니다. 11 But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and drank. 12 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨습니다. "내가 있는 산으로 올라와서 기다려라. 내가 너에게 돌판 두 개를 주겠다. 거기에는 내가 백성에게 가르치려고 쓴 가르침과 명령이 적혀 있다." 12 The LORD said to Moses, 'Come up to me on the mountain and stay here, and I will give you the tablets of stone, with the law and commands I have written for their instruction.' 13 그래서 모세는 자기 보좌관 여호수아를 데리고 길을 떠났습니다. 모세는 하나님의 산인 시내 산으로 올라갔습니다. 13 Then Moses set out with Joshua his aide, and Moses went up on the mountain of God. 14 모세가 장로들에게 말했습니다. "아론과 훌이 여러분과 함께 있을 것이니, 우리가 돌아올 때까지 여기서 기다리시오. 누구든지 문제가 생기면 아론과 훌에게 가시오." 14 He said to the elders, 'Wait here for us until we come back to you. Aaron and Hur are with you, and anyone involved in a dispute can go to them.' 15 모세가 산에 올라가자, 구름이 산을 덮었습니다. 15 When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud covered it, 16 여호와의 영광이 시내 산으로 내려왔습니다. 구름은 육 일 동안, 산을 덮고 있었습니다. 칠 일째 되는 날, 여호와께서 구름 속에서 모세를 부르셨습니다. 16 and the glory of the LORD settled on Mount Sinai. For six days the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh day the LORD called to Moses from within the cloud. 17 이스라엘 백성은 마치 산꼭대기에서 타오르는 불과 같은 여호와의 영광을 보았습니다. 17 To the Israelites the glory of the LORD looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain. 18 모세는 구름 속으로 들어가서 산 위로 올라갔습니다. 모세는 사십 일 밤낮을 산 위에 있었습니다. 18 Then Moses entered the cloud as he went on up the mountain. And he stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
