야고보서1:19-27 [개역개정] 19. 내 사랑하는 형제들아 너희가 알지니 사람마다 듣기는 속히 하고 말하기는 더디 하며 성내기도 더디 하라 20. 사람이 성내는 것이 하나님의 의를 이루지 못함이라 21. 그러므로 모든 더러운 것과 넘치는 악을 내버리고 너희 영혼을 능히 구원할 바 마음에 심어진 말씀을 온유함으로 받으라 22. 너희는 말씀을 행하는 자가 되고 듣기만 하여 자신을 속이는 자가 되지 말라 23. 누구든지 말씀을 듣고 행하지 아니하면 그는 거울로 자기의 생긴 얼굴을 보는 사람과 같아서 24. 제 자신을 보고 가서 그 모습이 어떠했는지를 곧 잊어버리거니와 25. 자유롭게 하는 온전한 율법을 들여다보고 있는 자는 듣고 잊어버리는 자가 아니요 실천하는 자니 이 사람은 그 행하는 일에 복을 받으리라 26. 누구든지 스스로 경건하다 생각하며 자기 혀를 재갈 물리지 아니하고 자기 마음을 속이면 이 사람의 경건은 헛것이라 27. 하나님 아버지 앞에서 정결하고 더러움이 없는 경건은 곧 고아와 과부를 그 환난중에 돌보고 또 자기를 지켜 세속에 물들지 아니하는 그것이니라 [NIV] 19. My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20. for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. 21. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. 22. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24. and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it--he will be blessed in what he does. 26. If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. 27. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. [새번역] 19. 사랑하는 형제자매 여러분, 여러분은 이것을 알아두십시오. 누구든지 듣기는 빨리 하고, 말하기는 더디 하고, 노하기도 더디 하십시오. 20. 노하는 사람은 하나님의 의를 이루지 못하기 때문입니다. 21. 그러므로 더러움과 넘치는 악을 모두 버리고, 온유한 마음으로 여러분 속에 심어주신 말씀을 받아들여야 합니다. 그 말씀에는 여러분의 영혼을 구원할 능력이 있습니다. 22. 말씀을 행하는 사람이 되십시오. 그저 듣기만 하여 자신을 속이는 사람이 되지 마십시오. 23. 말씀을 듣고도 행하지 않는 사람은 있는 그대로의 자기 얼굴을 거울 속으로 들여다보기만 하는 사람과 같습니다. 24. 이런 사람은 자기의 모습을 보고 떠나가서 그것이 어떠한지를 곧 잊어버리는 사람입니다. 25. 그러나 완전한 율법 곧 자유를 주는 율법을 잘 살피고 끊임없이 그대로 사는 사람은, 율법을 듣고서 잊어버리는 사람이 아니라, 그것을 실행하는 사람인 것입니다. 이런 사람은 그가 행한 일에 복을 받을 것입니다. 26. 누가 스스로 경건하다고 생각하면서도, 혀를 다스리지 않고 자기 마음을 속이면, 이 사람의 신앙은 헛된 것입니다. 27. 하나님 아버지께서 보시기에 깨끗하고 흠이 없는 경건은, 고난을 겪고 있는 고아들과 과부들을 돌보아주며, 자기를 지켜서 세속에 물들지 않게 하는 것입니다. [KJV] 19. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 20. For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. 21. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24. For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. 26. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. 27. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. [현대인의성경] 19. 사랑하는 형제 여러분, 이것을 명심하십시오. 누구든지 듣기는 속히 하고 말은 천천히 하며 함부로 성내지 마십시오. 20. 인간적인 분노는 하나님의 의로운 뜻을 이루지 못합니다. 21. 그러므로 여러분은 온갖 더러운 것과 악을 버리고 마음에 심겨진 하나님의 말씀을 겸손히 받아들이십시오. 그 말씀에는 여러분의 영혼을 구원할 수 있는 능력이 있습니다. 22. 여러분은 말씀을 듣기만 하여 자신을 속이지 말고 말씀을 실천하는 사람이 되십시오. 23. 말씀을 듣고도 실천하지 않는 사람은 거울에 자기 얼굴을 들여다보는 사람과 같습니다. 24. 그는 자기 모양을 보고도 거울 앞에서 떠나면 곧 제 모습을 잊어버립니다. 25. 그러나 자유를 주는 완전한 그리스도의 법을 마음 속에 새기고 그것을 지키는 사람은 듣고 잊어버리는 사람이 아니라 실천하는 사람입니다. 이런 사람은 그가 하는 일에 복을 받을 것입니다. 26. 누구든지 믿는다고 하면서도 함부로 말을 내뱉으면 자기를 속이는 것이며 그의 믿음도 가치가 없습니다. 27. 하나님 아버지 앞에서 깨끗하고 순수한 신앙은 어려운 처지에 있는 고아와 과부들을 돌봐 주고 자신을 지켜 세속에 물들지 않는 이것입니다. [NASB] 19. This you know, my beloved brethren But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; 20. for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. 21. Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. 22. But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. 23. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; 24. for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. 25. But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does. 26. If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is worthless. 27. Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world
