[욥기 26장] 새번역

1. 욥이 대답하였다.
2. 나를 그렇게까지 생각하여 주니, 고맙다. 나처럼 가난하고 힘없는 자를 도와주다니!
3. 너는 우둔한 나를 잘 깨우쳐 주었고, 네 지혜를 내게 나누어 주었다.
4. 그런데 누가, 네가 한 그런 말을 들을 것이라고 생각하느냐? 너는 누구에게 영감을 받아서 그런 말을 하는거냐?
5. 죽은 자들이 떤다. 깊은 물 밑에서 사는 자들이 두려워한다.
6. 스올도 하나님께는 훤하게 보이고, 멸망의 구덩이도 그분의 눈에는 훤하게 보인다.
7. 하나님이 북쪽 하늘을 허공에 펼쳐 놓으시고, 이 땅덩이를 빈 곳에 매달아 놓으셨다.
8. 구름 속에 물을 채우시고, 물이 구름 밑으로 터져 나오지 못하게 막고 계시는 분이 바로 하나님이시다.
9. 하나님은 보름달을 구름 뒤에 숨기신다.
10. 물 위에 수평선을 만드시고, 빛과 어둠을 나누신다.
11. 그분께서 꾸짖으시면, 하늘을 떠받치는 기둥이 흔들린다.
12. 능력으로 '바다'를 정복하시며, 지혜로 라합을 쳐부순다.
13. 그분의 콧김에 하늘이 맑게 개며, 그분의 손은 도망 치는 바다 괴물을 찔러 죽인다.
14. 그러나 이런 것들은, 그분이 하시는 일의 일부에 지나지 않고, 우리가 그분에게서 듣는 것도 가냘픈 속삭임에 지나지 않는다. 하물며 그분의 권능에 찬 우레 소리를 누가 이해할 수 있겠느냐!

Then Job replied:

וַיַּעַן אִיֹּוב וַיֹּאמַר׃

'How you have helped the powerless! How you have saved the arm that is feeble!

מֶה־עָזַרְתָּ לְלֹא־כֹחַ הֹושַׁעְתָּ זְרֹועַ לֹא־עֹז׃

3
What advice you have offered to one without wisdom! And what great insight you have displayed!

מַה־יָּעַצְתָּ לְלֹא חָכְמָה וְתוּשִׁיָּה לָרֹב הֹודָעְתָּ׃

4
Who has helped you utter these words? And whose spirit spoke from your mouth?

אֶת־מִי הִגַּדְתָּ מִלִּין וְנִשְׁמַת־מִי יָצְאָה מִמֶּךָּ׃

5
'The dead are in deep anguish, those beneath the waters and all that live in them.

הָרְפָאִים יְחֹולָלוּ מִתַּחַת מַיִם וְשֹׁכְנֵיהֶם׃

6
Death is naked before God; Destruction lies uncovered.

עָרֹום שְׁאֹול נֶגְדֹּו וְאֵין כְּסוּת לָאֲבַדֹּון׃

7
He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.

נֹטֶה צָפֹון עַל־תֹּהוּ תֹּלֶה אֶרֶץ עַל־בְּלִי־מָה׃

8
He wraps up the waters in his clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under their weight.

צֹרֵר־מַיִם בְּעָבָיו וְלֹא־נִבְקַע עָןָן תַּחְתָּם׃

9
He covers the face of the full moon, spreading his clouds over it.

מְאַחֵז פְּנֵי־כִסֵּה פַּרְשֵׁז עָלָיו עֲנָנֹו׃

10
He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters for a boundary between light and darkness.

חֹק־חָג עַל־פְּנֵי־מָיִם עַד־תַּכְלִית אֹור עִם־חֹשֶׁךְ׃

The pillars of the heavens quake, aghast at his rebuke.

עַמּוּדֵי שָׁמַיִם יְרֹופָפוּ וְיִתְמְהוּ מִגַּעֲרָתֹו׃

12
By his power he churned up the sea; by his wisdom he cut Rahab to pieces.

בְּכֹחֹו רָגַע הַיָּם [כ= וּבִתוּבְנָתֹו] [ק= וּבִתְבוּנָתֹו] מָחַץ רָהַב׃

13
By his breath the skies became fair; his hand pierced the gliding serpent.

בְּרוּחֹו שָׁמַיִם שִׁפְרָה חֹלֲלָה* יָדֹו נָחָשׁ בָּרִיחַ׃

14
And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?'

הֶן־אֵלֶּה קְצֹות [כ= דַּרְכֹּו] [ק= דְּרָכָיו] וּמַה־שֵּׁמֶץ דָּבָר נִשְׁמַע־בֹּו וְרַעַם [כ= גְּבוּרָתֹו] [ק= גְּבוּרֹותָיו*] מִי יִתְבֹּוןָן׃ ס
