욥기23장 새번역 NIV 1 욥이 대답하였다. 1 Then Job replied: 2 오늘도 이렇게 처절하게 탄식할 수밖에 없다니! 내가 받는 이 고통에는 아랑곳없이, 그분이 무거운 손으로 여전히 나를 억누르시는구나! 2 'Even today my complaint is bitter; his hand is heavy in spite of my groaning. 3 아, 그분이 계신 곳을 알 수만 있다면, 그분의 보좌까지 내가 이를 수만 있다면, 3 If only I knew where to find him; if only I could go to his dwelling! 4 그분 앞에서 내 사정을 아뢰련만, 내가 정당함을 입이 닳도록 변론하련만. 4 I would state my case before him and fill my mouth with arguments. 5 그러면 그분은 무슨 말로 내게 대답하실까? 내게 어떻게 대답하실까? 5 I would find out what he would answer me, and consider what he would say. 6 하나님이 힘으로 나를 억누르실까? 그렇지 않을 것이다. 내가 말씀을 드릴 때에, 귀를 기울여 들어 주실 것이다. 6 Would he oppose me with great power? No, he would not press charges against me. 7 내게 아무런 잘못이 없으니, 하나님께 떳떳하게 말씀드릴 수 있을 것이다. 내 말을 다 들으시고 나서는, 단호하게 무죄를 선언하실 것이다. 7 There an upright man could present his case before him, and I would be delivered forever from my judge. 8 그러나 동쪽으로 가서 찾아보아도, 하나님은 거기에 안 계시고, 서쪽으로 가서 찾아보아도, 하나님을 뵐 수가 없구나. 8 'But if I go to the east, he is not there; if I go to the west, I do not find him. 9 북쪽에서 일을 하고 계실 터인데도, 그분을 뵐 수가 없고, 남쪽에서 일을 하고 계실 터인데도, 그분을 뵐 수가 없구나. 9 When he is at work in the north, I do not see him; when he turns to the south, I catch no glimpse of him. 10 하나님은 내가 발 한 번 옮기는 것을 다 알고 계실 터이니, 나를 시험해 보시면 내게 흠이 없다는 것을 아실 수 있으련만! 10 But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. 11 내 발은 오직 그분의 발자취를 따르며, 하나님이 정하신 길로만 성실하게 걸으며, 길을 벗어나서 방황하지 않았건만! 11 My feet have closely followed his steps; I have kept to his way without turning aside. 12 그분의 입술에서 나오는 계명을 어긴 일이 없고, 그분의 입에서 나오는 말씀을 늘 마음 속 깊이 간직하였건만! 12 I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread. 13 그러나 그분이 한번 뜻을 정하시면, 누가 그것을 돌이킬 수 있으랴? 한번 하려고 하신 것은, 반드시 이루고 마시는데, 13 'But he stands alone, and who can oppose him? He does whatever he pleases. 14 하나님이 가지고 계신 많은 계획 가운데, 나를 두고 세우신 계획이 있으면, 반드시 이루고야 마시겠기에 14 He carries out his decree against me, and many such plans he still has in store. 15 나는 그분 앞에서 떨리는구나. 이런 것을 생각할 때마다, 그분이 두렵구나. 15 That is why I am terrified before him; when I think of all this, I fear him. 16 하나님이 내 용기를 꺾으셨기 때문이고, 전능하신 분께서 나를 떨게 하셨기 때문이지, 16 God has made my heart faint; the Almighty has terrified me. 17 내가 무서워 떤 것은 어둠 때문도 아니고, 흑암이 나를 덮은 탓도 아니다. 17 Yet I am not silenced by the darkness, by the thick darkness that covers my face.
