1 The LORD said to Moses on Mount Sinai, 1 주님께서 시내 산에서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. 2 "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'When you enter the land I am going to give you, the land itself must observe a sabbath to the LORD. 2 "너는 이스라엘 자손에게 말하여라. 그들에게 다음과 같이 일러라.내가 너희에게 주기로 한 그 땅으로 너희가 들어가면, 나 주가 쉴 때에, 땅도 쉬게 하여야 한다. 3 For six years sow your fields, and for six years prune your vineyards and gather their crops. 3 여섯 해 동안은 너희가 너희 밭에 씨를 뿌려라. 여섯 해 동안은 너희가 포도원을 가꾸어 그 소출을 거두어라. 4 But in the seventh year the land is to have a sabbath of rest, a sabbath to the LORD. Do not sow your fields or prune your vineyards. 4 그러나 일곱째 해에는 나 주가 쉬므로, 땅도 반드시 쉬게 하여야 한다. 그 해에는, 밭에 씨를 뿌려도 안 되며, 포도원을 가꾸어도 안 된다. 5 Do not reap what grows of itself or harvest the grapes of your untended vines. It shall be a jubilee for you; each one of you is to return to his family property and each to his own clan. 10 너희는 오십 년이 시작되는 이 해를 거룩한 해로 정하고, 전국의 모든 거민에게 자유를 선포하여라. 이 해는 너희가 희년으로 누릴 해이다. 이 해는 너희가 유산 곧 분배받은 땅으로 돌아가는 해이며, 저마다 가족에게로 돌아가는 해이다. 11 The fiftieth year shall be a jubilee for you; do not sow and do not reap what grows of itself or harvest the untended vines. 11 오십 년이 시작되는 해는, 너희가 희년으로 지켜야 하는 해이다. 희년에는 씨를 뿌리지 말고, 저절로 자란 것을 거두어서도 안 되며, 너희가 가꾸지 않은 포도나무에서 저절로 열린 포도도 따서는 안 된다. 12 For it is a jubilee and is to be holy for you; eat only what is taken directly from the fields. 12 그 해는 희년이다. 너희는 그 한 해를 거룩하게 보내야 한다. 너희는 밭에서 난 것을 먹게 될 것이다. 13 " 'In this Year of Jubilee everyone is to return to his own property. 13 이렇게 희년이 되면, 너희는 저마다 유산 곧 분배받은 땅으로 돌아가야 한다." 14 " 'If you sell land to one of your countrymen or buy any from him, do not take advantage of each other. 14 "너희가 저마다 제 이웃에게 무엇을 팔거나, 또는 이웃에게서 무엇을 살 때에는, 부당하게 이익을 남겨서는 안 된다. 15 You are to buy from your countryman on the basis of the number of years since the Jubilee. And he is to sell to you on the basis of the number of years left for harvesting crops. 15 네가 네 이웃에게서 밭을 사들일 때에는, 희년에서 몇 해가 지났는지를 계산하여야 한다. 파는 사람은, 앞으로 그 밭에서 몇 번이나 더 소출을 거둘 수 있는지, 그 햇수를 따져서 너에게 값을 매길 것이다. 16 When the years are many, you are to increase the price, and when the years are few, you are to decrease the price, because what he is really selling you is the number of crops. 16 소출을 거둘 햇수가 많으면, 너는 값을 더 치러야 한다. 희년까지 남은 햇수가 얼마 되지 않으면, 너는 값을 깎을 수 있다. 그가 너에게 실제로 파는 것은 거기에서 거둘 수 있는 수확의 횟수이기 때문이다. 17 Do not take advantage of each other, but fear your God. I am the LORD your God. 17 너희는 서로 이웃에게서 부당하게 이익을 남기려고 해서는 안 된다. 너희는 하나님 두려운 줄을 알아야 한다. 나는 주 너희의 하나님이다. 18 " 'Follow my decrees and be careful to obey my laws, and you will live safely in the land. 18 그러므로 너희는 내가 세운 규례를 따라서 살고, 내가 명한 법도를 지켜서 그대로 하여야 한다. 그래야만 그 땅에서 너희가 안전하게 살 수 있을 것이다. 19 Then the land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill and live there in safety. 19 땅은 소출을 낼 것이고, 그것으로 너희가 넉넉히 먹을 수 있을 것이며, 거기에서 안전하게 살 수 있을 것이다. 20 You may ask, 'What will we eat in the seventh year if we do not plant or harvest our crops?' 20 '일곱째 해에는 씨를 뿌려도 안 되고, 소출을 거두어들여도 안 된다면, 그 해에 우리는 무엇을 먹을까?' 하고 너희는 물을 것이다. 21 I will send you such a blessing in the sixth year that the land will yield enough for three years. 21 그러나 여섯째 해에, 내가 너희에게 복을 베풀어, 세 해 동안 먹을 소출이 그 한 해에 나게 하겠다. 22 While you plant during the eighth year, you will eat from the old crop and will continue to eat from it until the harvest of the ninth year comes in. 22 여덟째 해 곧 너희가 다시 씨를 뿌리는 그 해에, 너희는 묵은 곡식을 먹을 것이다. 아홉째 해가 되어서 햇곡식이 날 때까지, 너희는 묵은 곡식을 먹을 것이다. 23 " 'The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is mine and you are but aliens and my tenants. 23 땅을 아주 팔지는 못한다. 땅은 나의 것이다. 너희는 다만 나그네이며, 나에게 와서 사는 임시 거주자일 뿐이다. 24 Throughout the country that you hold as a possession, you must provide for the redemption of the land. 24 너희는 유산으로 받은 땅 어디에서나, 땅 무르는 것을 허락하여야 한다. 25 " 'If one of your countrymen becomes poor and sells some of his property, his nearest relative is to come and redeem what his countryman has sold. 25 네 친척 가운데 누가 가난하여, 그가 가진 유산으로 받은 땅의 얼마를 팔면, 가까운 친척이 그 판 것을 무를 수 있게 하여야 한다. 26 If, however, a man has no one to redeem it for him but he himself prospers and acquires sufficient means to redeem it, 26 그것을 무를 친척이 없으면, 형편이 좋아져서 판 것을 되돌려 살 힘이 생길 때까지 기다려야 한다. 27 he is to determine the value for the years since he sold it and refund the balance to the man to whom he sold it; he can then go back to his own property. 27 판 땅을 되돌려 살 때에는, 그 땅을 산 사람이 그 땅을 이용한 햇수를 계산하여 거기에 해당하는 값을 빼고, 그 나머지를 산 사람에게 치르면 된다. 그렇게 하고 나면, 땅을 판 그 사람이 자기가 유산으로 받은 그 땅을 다시 차지한다. 28 But if he does not acquire the means to repay him, what he sold will remain in the possession of the buyer until the Year of Jubilee. It will be returned in the Jubilee, and he can then go back to his property. 28 그러나 그가 그 땅을 되돌려 살 힘이 없을 때에는, 그 땅은 산 사람이 희년이 될 때까지 소유한다. 희년이 되면, 땅은 본래의 임자에게 되돌아간다. 땅을 판 사람은, 그 때에 가서야 유산 곧 분배받은 그 땅을 다시 차지할 수 있다. 29 " 'If a man sells a house in a walled city, he retains the right of redemption a full year after its sale. During that time he may redeem it. 29 성곽 안에 있는 집을 팔았을 때에는, 한 해 안에는 언제든지 되돌려 살 수 있다. 집을 판 사람은 한 해 동안은 그것을 무를 수 있는 권리가 있다. 30 If it is not redeemed before a full year has passed, the house in the walled city shall belong permanently to the buyer and his descendants. They can be redeemed, and they are to be returned in the Jubilee. 31 그러나 성곽이 없는 마을에 지은 집은, 그것들을 토지와 같이 여겨, 판 사람이 언제든지 무를 수 있고, 되돌려 살 힘이 없을 때에는, 희년이 될 때까지 기다렸다가, 본래의 임자가 그것을 다시 차지한다. 32 " 'The Levites always have the right to redeem their houses in the Levitical towns, which they possess. 32 그러나 레위 사람의 성읍 곧 그들이 유산으로 받은 성읍 안에 있는 집은 그렇지 않다. 레위 사람은 성읍 안에 있는 집을 팔았어도, 언제든지 그것을 다시 무를 수 있다. 33 So the property of the Levites is redeemable-that is, a house sold in any town they hold-and is to be returned in the Jubilee, because the houses in the towns of the Levites are their property among the Israelites. 33 그가 무르지 않으면, 성읍 안에 있는 그 팔린 집은, 희년이 되면, 본래의 임자에게 되돌아간다. 레위 사람의 성읍 안에 있는 집은, 이스라엘 자손이 레위 사람의 유산으로 준 것이기 때문이다. 34 But the pastureland belonging to their towns must not be sold; it is their permanent possession. 34 레위 사람의 성읍에 딸린 땅도 또한, 영원히 레위 사람의 유산이기 때문에 팔 수 없다. 35 " 'If one of your countrymen becomes poor and is unable to support himself among you, help him as you would an alien or a temporary resident, so he can continue to live among you. 35 너희 동족 가운데, 아주 가난해서, 도저히 자기 힘만으로는 살아갈 수 없는 사람이 너희의 곁에 살면, 너희는 그를 돌보아 주어야 한다. 너희는 그를, 나그네나 임시 거주자처럼, 너희와 함께 살도록 하여야 한다. 36 Do not take interest of any kind from him, but fear your God, so that your countryman may continue to live among you. 36 그에게서는 이자를 받아도 안 되고, 어떤 이익을 남기려고 해서도 안 된다. 너희가 하나님 두려운 줄을 안다면, 너희의 동족을 너희의 곁에 데리고 함께 살아야 한다. 37 You must not lend him money at interest or sell him food at a profit. 37 너희는 그런 사람에게, 이자를 받을 목적으로 돈을 꾸어 주거나, 이익을 볼 셈으로 먹거리를 꾸어 주어서는 안 된다. 38 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan and to be your God. 38 나는 너희의 하나님이 되려고, 너희에게 가나안 땅을 주고, 너희를 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 낸 주 너희의 하나님이다. 39 " 'If one of your countrymen becomes poor among you and sells himself to you, do not make him work as a slave. 39 너희 곁에 사는 동족 가운데서, 누군가가 가난하게 되어서 너희에게 종으로 팔려 왔어도, 너희는 그를 종 부리듯 해서는 안 된다. 40 He is to be treated as a hired worker or a temporary resident among you; he is to work for you until the Year of Jubilee. 40 너희는 그를, 품꾼이나 임시 거주자처럼, 너희의 곁에서 살도록 하여야 한다. 너희는 희년이 될 때까지만 그에게 일을 시키다가, 41 Then he and his children are to be released, and he will go back to his own clan and to the property of his forefathers. 41 희년이 되면, 그가 자식들과 함께 너희를 떠나, 자기 가족이 있는 조상에게서 받은 유산의 땅으로 돌아가도록 하여야 한다. 42 Because the Israelites are my servants, whom I brought out of Egypt, they must not be sold as slaves. 42 그들은 내가 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 낸 나의 품꾼이므로, 너희가 그들을 종으로 팔 수 없다. 43 Do not rule over them ruthlessly, but fear your God. 43 너희는 그를 고되게 부려서도 안 된다. 모름지기 너희는 하나님 두려운 줄을 알아야 한다. 44 " 'Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 44 너희가 남종이나 여종을 두려면, 너희의 주변에 있는 여러 나라에서 남종이나 여종을 사들일 수 있다. 45 You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. 45 너희는 또, 너희와 함께 사는 외국인 거주자의 자손 가운데서나, 너희의 땅에서 태어나서 너희와 함께 사는 그들의 가족 가운데서 종을 사서, 너희의 소유로 삼을 수 있다. 46 You can will them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly. 46 너희는 또 그 종들을 너희의 자손에게 영원한 유산으로 물려줄 수도 있다. 바로 이들은 너희가 종으로 부려도 된다. 그러나 너희의 동포 이스라엘 자손들끼리 서로 고되게 부려서는 안 된다. 47 " 'If an alien or a temporary resident among you becomes rich and one of your countrymen becomes poor and sells himself to the alien living among you or to a member of the alien's clan, 47 너희와 함께 사는, 나그네 신세 된 외국 사람이나 임시 거주자 가운데는 부자로 사는 사람이 있는데, 마침 그 이웃에 너희의 동족이 살고 있다가 가난하게 되어서, 그 외국 사람에게나, 너희와 같이 사는 임시 거주자에게나, 그 가족 가운데 누구에게, 종으로 팔렸다고 하자. 48 he retains the right of redemption after he has sold himself. One of his relatives may redeem him: 48 종으로 팔려 간 다음이라 하더라도, 그는 종으로 팔릴 때에 받은 값을 되돌려 주고 풀려 날 권리가 있다. 그의 친척 가운데 누군가가 값을 대신 치르고 그를 데려올 수 있으며, 49 An uncle or a cousin or any blood relative in his clan may redeem him. Or if he prospers, he may redeem himself. 49 삼촌이나 사촌이 그를 데리고 나올 수도 있고, 그의 가문에 속한 살붙이가 그를 데리고 나올 수도 있다. 그 사람이 넉넉하게 된 뒤에, 스스로 그 값을 치르고 나올 수도 있다. 50 He and his buyer are to count the time from the year he sold himself up to the Year of Jubilee. The price for his release is to be based on the rate paid to a hired man for that number of years. 50 그 경우에 그는, 종으로 팔렸던 그 해로부터 희년이 될 해까지의 햇수를 자기를 산 사람과 함께 계산하여, 그 햇수에 따라 돌려줄 값을 정하여야 한다. 그 가운데서 그가 주인을 섬기며 일한 기간은, 그가 이미 주인에게 일을 하여 준 기간이므로, 값의 일부를 치른 것으로 계산하여야 한다. 51 If many years remain, he must pay for his redemption a larger share of the price paid for him. 51 아직 희년까지 남은 햇수가 많으면, 남은 햇수 만큼 많이 내고 나와야 한다. 그는 종으로 팔릴 때에 받은 몸값에서, 그 집에서 일한 햇수의 품삯을 떼낸 나머지를 무르는 값으로 치르면 된다. 52 If only a few years remain until the Year of Jubilee, he is to compute that and pay for his redemption accordingly. 52 희년까지 남은 햇수가 얼마 되지 않으면, 그 햇수를 따져서 그만큼 적게 치르면 된다. 이 때에도 그는 일한 햇수와 남은 햇수를, 자기를 종으로 산 주인과 함께 계산하여, 무르는 값을 정하여야 한다. 53 He is to be treated as a man hired from year to year; you must see to it that his owner does not rule over him ruthlessly. 53 주인은 그를 해마다 고용하는 것으로 하고, 그를 품꾼으로 대접하여야 한다. 어떤 주인이라도 그 종을 심하게 부려서는 안 된다. 54 " 'Even if he is not redeemed in any of these ways, he and his children are to be released in the Year of Jubilee, 54 위에서 말한 여러 방법 가운데 어느 하나로도 풀려 날 길이 없다 하더라도, 희년이 되면 그는 풀려 날 수 있다. 자기만이 아니라 자식들도 그와 함께 풀려 난다. 55 for the Israelites belong to me as servants. They are my servants, whom I brought out of Egypt. I am the LORD your God. 55 이스라엘 자손은 나에게 속한 나의 품꾼이기 때문이다. 그들은 내가 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 낸 나의 품꾼이다. 내가 주 너희의 하나님이다.
