하나님의 백성들을 위한 위로
1. “위로하라. 내 백성을 위로하라.” 너희의 하나님께서 말씀하신다.
2. “예루살렘의 마음을 위로하며 말하라. 예루살렘의 복역 기간이 완전히 끝났고 형벌도 다 치렀으며 여호와의 손에서 그 죄 값을 두 배나 받았다고 선포하라.”
3. 한 소리가 외친다. “광야에 여호와의 길을 내라. 사막에 우리의 하나님께서 오실 큰 길을 곧게 닦으라.
4. 모든 골짜기는 높이고 모든 산과 언덕은 낮추고 가파른 곳은 고르게 하고 울퉁불퉁한 곳은 평지로 만들라.
5. 여호와의 영광이 드러날 것이니 모든 사람이 그것을 함께 보게 될 것이다. 여호와께서 친히 입으로 말씀하셨다.”
6. 한 소리가 명령한다. “외치라.” 그래서 내가 말했다. “무엇이라고 외쳐야 합니까?” “모든 사람은 풀과 같고 그 모든 아름다움은 들판의 꽃과 같다.
7. 여호와께서 입김을 부시면 풀은 시들고 꽃은 떨어진다. 그렇다. 이 백성은 풀에 불과하다.
8. 풀은 시들고 꽃은 떨어지지만 우리 하나님의 말씀은 영원히 서 있다.”
9. 시온에 좋은 소식을 전하는 사람아, 너는 높은 산으로 올라가거라. 예루살렘에 좋은 소식을 전하는 사람아, 두려워하지 말고 힘껏 외쳐라. 유다의 성읍들에게 말하여라. “보라. 너희 하나님께서 여기 계시다!”
10. 보라. 주 여호와께서 능력으로 오신다. 친히 그 팔로 다스리실 것이다. 보라. 그분이 상급을 갖고 오신다. 그분의 보상이 그분의 앞에 있다.
11. 그분은 목자처럼 자신의 양 떼를 돌보시고 자신의 어린 양들을 양 팔로 끌어안아 가슴에 품으시고 젖먹이 딸린 양들을 고이고이 이끄신다.
12. 누가 손바닥으로 바닷물을 헤아렸고 뼘으로 하늘을 쟀느냐? 누가 땅의 흙을 바구니에 담았고 저울로 산을 달았으며 천칭으로 언덕을 달았느냐?
13. 누가 여호와의 마음을 헤아렸고 그분의 상담자가 돼 그분을 가르쳤느냐?
14. 누구에게 여호와께서 자신을 이해시켜 달라고 요청했느냐? 누가 그분에게 공의의 길을 가르쳤고 지식을 가르쳤으며 분별의 길을 알려드렸느냐?
15. 보라. 뭇 민족들은 물통에 담긴 물 한 방울 같고 저울 위에 놓인 흙과 같을 뿐이다. 섬들도 고운 흙보다 더 가볍다.
16. 레바논의 숲도 제단의 장작으로 쓰기에 모자라고 그곳의 짐승들도 번제물로는 충분하지 않다.
17. 그분 앞에서는 모든 민족이 아무것도 아니다. 그분은 그들을 아무것도 아닌 것보다 더 하찮게 여기신다.
18. 그렇다면 하나님을 누구와 견주겠으며 어떤 형상과 닮았다고 하겠는가?
19. 우상? 그것은 장인들이 부어 만들고 도금장이가 그 위에 금을 입힌 다음 은으로 장식한 물건일 뿐이다.
20. 너무 가난해서 그런 물건을 구할 수 없는 사람은 썩지 않는 나무를 골라서 숙련된 기술자를 찾아가 썩지 않을 우상을 만든다.
21. 너희는 알지 못하느냐? 너희는 듣지 못했느냐? 태초부터 그것을 듣지 않았느냐? 땅의 기초가 세워지기 전부터 너희가 잘 알고 있지 않느냐?
22. 그는 땅 위의 둥근 천장에 앉으시니 땅의 백성들은 메뚜기와 같다. 그분은 하늘을 휘장처럼 펴시고 사람이 사는 장막처럼 그것을 펼치신다.
23. 그분은 귀족들을 있으나마나한 사람으로 만들고 세상 통치자들을 쓸모없는 사람으로 만드신다.
24. 그들이 심어지자마자, 씨가 뿌려지자마자, 땅에 뿌리를 내리자마자, 그분은 입김을 불어 그들을 말려 버리시고 회오리바람이 그들을 겨처럼 쓸고 지나가게 하실 것이다.
25. “너희는 나를 누구와 견주겠느냐? 누가 나와 같겠느냐?” 거룩하신 분이 말씀하신다.
26. 눈을 높이 들어 위를 쳐다 보라. 누가 이 모든 것을 창조했느냐? 그분은 별자리들을 하나하나 불러내어 그것들을 각각 이름대로 부르신다. 그분의 능력은 크시고 힘은 강하시니 하나도 빠지지 않고 부르신다.
27. 야곱아, 네가 왜 이렇게 말하느냐? 이스라엘아, 네가 왜 이렇게 이야기하느냐? 왜 “내 길은 여호와께 숨겨져 있고 내 공의는 하나님이 무시하신다” 하느냐?
28. 너희가 알지 못하느냐? 너희가 듣지 못했느냐? 여호와는 영원한 하나님이시고 땅 끝을 창조한 분이시다. 그분은 지치거나 피곤해하지 않으시고 그분의 통찰력은 아무도 탐구할 수 없다.
29. 그분은 지친 사람들에게 힘을 주시고 약한 사람들에게 힘을 북돋워 주신다.
30. 젊은이라도 지쳐 피곤하고 장정이라도 걸려 비틀거리겠지만
31. 여호와를 바라는 사람들은 새로운 힘을 얻을 것이다. 독수리가 날개를 치면서 솟구치듯 올라갈 것이고 아무리 달려도 지치지 않고 아무리 걸어도 피곤하지 않을 것이다.

1. Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.
2. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the LORD's hand double for all her sins.
3. A voice of one calling: "In the desert prepare the way for the LORD; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God.
4. Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.
5. And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it. For the mouth of the LORD has spoken."
6. A voice says, "Cry out." And I said, "What shall I cry?" "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field.
7. The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the LORD blows on them. Surely the people are grass.
8. The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever."
9. You who bring good tidings to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who bring good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the towns of Judah, "Here is your God!"
10. See, the Sovereign LORD comes with power, and his arm rules for him. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.
11. He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.
12. Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance?
13. Who has understood the mind of the LORD, or instructed him as his counselor?
14. Whom did the LORD consult to enlighten him, and who taught him the right way? Who was it that taught him knowledge or showed him the path of understanding?
15. Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are regarded as dust on the scales; he weighs the islands as though they were fine dust.
16. Lebanon is not sufficient for altar fires, nor its animals enough for burnt offerings.
17. Before him all the nations are as nothing; they are regarded by him as worthless and less than nothing.
18. To whom, then, will you compare God? What image will you compare him to?
19. As for an idol, a craftsman casts it, and a goldsmith overlays it with gold and fashions silver chains for it.
20. A man too poor to present such an offering selects wood that will not rot. He looks for a skilled craftsman to set up an idol that will not topple.
21. Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded?
22. He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
23. He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.
24. No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.
25. "To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?" says the Holy One.
26. Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
27. Why do you say, O Jacob, and complain, O Israel, "My way is hidden from the LORD; my cause is disregarded by my God"?
28. Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
29. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
30. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
31. but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

2. דברו על לב ירושלם וקראו אליה כי מלאה צבאה כי נרצה עונה כי לקחה מיד יהוה כפלים בכל חטאתיה׃
3. קול קורא במדבר פנו דרך יהוה ישרו בערבה מסלה לאלהינו׃
4. כל גיא ינשא וכל הר וגבעה ישפלו והיה העקב למישור והרכסים לבקעה׃
5. ונגלה כבוד יהוה וראו כל בשר יחדו כי פי יהוה דבר׃
6. קול אמר קרא ואמר מה אקרא כל הבשר חציר וכל חסדו כציץ השדה׃
7. יבש חציר נבל ציץ כי רוח יהוה נשבה בו אכן חציר העם׃
8. יבש חציר נבל ציץ ודבר אלהינו יקום לעולם׃
9. על הר גבה עלי לך מבשרת ציון הרימי בכח קולך מבשרת ירושלם הרימי אל תיראי אמרי לערי יהודה הנה אלהיכם׃
10. הנה אדני יהוה בחזק יבוא וזרעו משלה לו הנה שכרו אתו ופעלתו לפניו׃
11. כרעה עדרו ירעה בזרעו יקבץ טלאים ובחיקו ישא עלות ינהל׃
12. מי מדד בשעלו מים ושמים בזרת תכן וכל בשלש עפר הארץ ושקל בפלס הרים וגבעות במאזנים׃
13. מי תכן את רוח יהוה ואיש עצתו יודיענו׃
14. את מי נועץ ויבינהו וילמדהו בארח משפט וילמדהו דעת ודרך תבונות יודיענו׃
15. הן גוים כמר מדלי וכשחק מאזנים נחשבו הן איים כדק יטול׃
16. ולבנון אין די בער וחיתו אין די עולה׃
17. כל הגוים כאין נגדו מאפס ותהו נחשבו לו׃
18. ואל מי תדמיון אל ומה דמות תערכו לו׃
19. הפסל נסך חרש וצרף בזהב ירקענו ורתקות כסף צורף׃
20. המסכן תרומה עץ לא ירקב יבחר חרש חכם יבקש לו להכין פסל לא ימוט׃
21. הלוא תדעו הלוא תשמעו הלוא הגד מראש לכם הלוא הבינתם מוסדות הארץ׃
22. הישב על חוג הארץ וישביה כחגבים הנוטה כדק שמים וימתחם כאהל לשבת׃
23. הנותן רוזנים לאין שפטי ארץ כתהו עשה׃
24. אף בל נטעו אף בל זרעו אף בל שרש בארץ גזעם וגם נשף בהם ויבשו וסערה כקש תשאם׃
25. ואל מי תדמיוני ואשוה יאמר קדוש׃
26. שאו מרום עיניכם וראו מי ברא אלה המוציא במספר צבאם לכלם בשם יקרא מרב אונים ואמיץ כח איש לא נעדר׃
27. למה תאמר יעקב ותדבר ישראל נסתרה דרכי מיהוה ומאלהי משפטי יעבור׃
28. הלוא ידעת אם לא שמעת אלהי עולם יהוה בורא קצות הארץ לא ייעף ולא ייגע אין חקר לתבונתו׃
29. נתן ליעף כח ולאין אונים עצמה ירבה׃
30. ויעפו נערים ויגעו ובחורים כשול יכשלו׃
31. וקוי יהוה יחליפו כח יעלו אבר כנשרים ירוצו ולא ייגעו ילכו ולא ייעפו׃
