1월 28일 스펄전 아침묵상 “그리스도 안에서 완전한 자로.” [골로새서 1장 28절]

"Perfect in Christ Jesus" (Colossians 1: 28).

Do you feel in your own soul that perfection is not in you?  Every tear which trickles from your eye weeps imperfection; every sigh which bursts from your heart cries imperfection; every harsh word which proceeds from your lip mutters imperfection.  You have too frequently had a view of your own heart to dream for a moment of any perfection in yourself.  But amid this sad consciousness of imperfection, here is comfort for you--you are "perfect in Christ Jesus."  In God's sight, you are "complete in Him."  Even now, you are "accepted in the beloved."  But there is a second perfection, yet to be realized, which is promised to all the seed.  Is it not delightful to look forward to the time when every stain of sin will be removed from the believer, and he shall be presented faultless before the throne, without spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing?  The Church then will be so pure, that not even the eye of omniscience will see a spot or blemish in her.  Then we will know and feel the happiness of this vast but short sentence, "Complete in Christ."  Not until then will we fully comprehend the heights and depths of the salvation of Jesus.  Christ takes a black and deformed thing and makes it clean and matchless in His glory, peerless in His beauty, and fit to be the companion of angels.  Oh my soul, stand and admire this blessed truth of perfection in Christ.

제목: 완전한 자

요절 : "우리가 그를 전파하여 각 사람을 권하고 모든 지혜로 각 사람을 가르침은 각 사람을 그리스도 안에서 완전한 자로 세우려 함이니"(골1:28)

그대는 그대 안에 완전함이 없다는 것을 그대 자신의 영혼 속에서 느끼고 있습니까?  그대의 눈에서 뚝뚝 흘리는 모든 눈물이 그대의 '불완전'을 애통하고 있습니다. 그대의 가슴(마음)에서 터져 나오는 모든 한숨은 '불완전'을 탄식하고 있습니다. 그대의 입술에서 나오는 거친 말은 '불완전'을 투덜거리는 것입니다.

그대는 그대 자신의 불완전한 마음을 너무 자주 보아서 그대 안에 어떤 한 순간의 '완전함'도 꿈꿀 수 없습니다. 그러나 이런 슬픈 불완전의 의식 중에서도 여기 그대를 위한 위로가 있습니다. 즉 그대는 그리스도 "예수 안에서 완전하다"는 것입니다. 하나님이 보시기에는, 그대는 그리스도 예수 안에서 완전합니다. 지금도 그대는 사랑하시는 자(예수 그리스도)안에서 용납되고 있습니다. 그러나 모든 씨(믿음의 자손)에게 약속되고, 언젠가는 실현될 두 번째 '완전함'이 있습니다.

모든 죄의 때가 믿는자들에게서 옮겨지고, 그가 점과 주름과 그 어떤 결점 없이, 보좌 앞에 깨끗한 심령으로 드려질 때를 기다리는 것은 즐거운 일이 아니겠습니까?  그때 교회는 매우 순결해서 전지자(全知者)의 눈조차도 교회의 점이나 흠점을 볼 수 없을 것입니다. 그러므로 우리는, "그리스도 안에서 완전함"이란,  짧지만 방대한 의미를 갖고 있는 이 문구가 주는 행복을 알고 느낄 것입니다.

그 행복을 알 때까지는 우리는 예수님의 구원의 높이와 깊이를 충분히 이해하지 못할 것입니다. 그리스도는 검고 추하게 된 것을 취하셔서 깨끗하게 하시고, 그의 영광에 있어서 비길 데 없고, 그의 아름다움에 있어서 견줄 데 없고, 천사들과 동류가 되기에 합당하게 만드십니다.

오 나의 영혼이여, 일어나서 그리스도 안에 있는 이 복된 '완전함'의 진리를 찬미하라
