나답과 아비후가 죽음
1. 아론의 아들들인 나답과 아비후가 각기 자기 향로를 가져다 거기에 불을 지피고 향품을 넣었습니다. 그러나 그것은 여호와께서 명령하시지 않은 다른 불을 여호와 앞에서 피운 것입니다.
2. 그러자 불이 여호와 앞에서 나와 그들을 불살랐습니다. 그들이 여호와 앞에서 죽었습니다.
3. 모세가 아론에게 말했습니다. “여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. ‘내게 다가오는 사람들 가운데서 내 거룩을 보일 것이며 모든 백성이 보는 앞에서 내가 영광을 받을 것이다.’” 이에 대해서 아론은 아무 말도 못했습니다.
4. 모세가 아론의 삼촌 웃시엘의 아들인 미사엘과 엘사반을 불러 그들에게 말했습니다. “이리 와서 네 조카들의 시신을 성소 앞에서 이스라엘의 야영지 밖으로 옮겨 가라.”
5. 모세가 명령한 대로 그들이 가까이 가서 그들의 옷을 잡고 이스라엘의 야영지 밖으로 옮겨 갔습니다.
6. 그러자 모세가 아론과 그의 아들인 엘르아살과 이다말에게 말했습니다. “여러분은 애도를 나타내 여러분의 머리를 풀지 말고 옷을 찢지 마시오. 그렇지 않으면 여러분은 죽을 것이고 온 공동체에 진노가 있을 것이오. 다만 여러분의 형제들인 이스라엘의 온 집이 여호와께서 보내신 불에 타 죽은 이들을 위해 애곡할 것이오.
7. 회막 입구에서 떠나지 마시오. 그렇지 않으면 여러분은 죽을 것이오. 이는 여러분이 여호와의 일을 하기 위해서 올리브 기름으로 부음의 의식을 치렀기 때문이오.” 그러자 그들은 모세가 말한 대로 했습니다.
8. 그때 여호와께서 아론에게 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다.
9. “너와 네 아들들이 회막에 들어갈 때 포도주나 다른 술을 입에 대서는 안 된다. 그렇지 않으면 너희는 죽을 것이다. 이것은 너희가 대대로 지킬 영원한 규례다.
10. 너희는 거룩한 것과 속된 것 그리고 부정한 것과 정결한 것을 구분해야 한다.
11. 그리고 너희는 나 여호와가 모세를 통해 그들에게 말했던 모든 규례들을 이스라엘 백성에게 가르쳐야 한다.”
제사장에게 주는 음식에 관한 규정들
12. 모세가 아론과 그 남은 아들인 엘르아살과 이다말에게 말했습니다. “여호와께 화제로 드린 제물들 가운데 남은 곡식제물을 가져다 제단 곁에서 누룩을 넣지 말고 먹으시오. 그것이 가장 거룩한 것이기 때문이오.
13. 여러분은 그것을 거룩한 곳에서 먹어야 하오. 그것이 여호와께 화제로 드린 제물들 가운데 형님과 형님의 아들들의 몫입니다. 나는 이렇게 명을 받았습니다.
14. 그러나 형님과 형님의 아들들과 형님의 딸들은 흔드는 예물인 가슴 부위와 바쳐진 뒷다리 고기는 정결한 곳에서 먹어야 합니다. 그것들이 이스라엘 백성들의 화목제물들 가운데 형님의 몫으로 형님과 형님의 자녀들에게 주신 것이기 때문입니다.
15. 바쳐진 예물의 뒷다리와 흔드는 예물로 드린 가슴 부위는 불 위에 태워서 드리는 제물들 가운데 기름과 함께 가져와 여호와 앞에서 흔들어 드려야 합니다. 그것은 여호와께서 명령하신 대로 형님과 형님의 자손들의 영원한 몫이 될 것입니다.”
16. 모세가 염소로 드리는 속죄제물을 찾아보았으나 그것이 이미 다 태워졌음을 알고 아론의 남은 아들인 엘르아살과 이다말에게 화를 내며 이렇게 물었습니다.
17. “그것은 가장 거룩한 것으로 그것을 너희에게 준 것은 너희가 여호와 앞에서 공동체를 위해 속죄해 그들의 죄를 감당하도록 하기 위함이었다. 그런데 어째서 너희가 거룩한 곳에서 그 속죄제물을 먹지 않았느냐?
18. 그 예물의 피가 성소에 들어가지 않았다. 너희는 내가 명령한 대로 그것을 거룩한 곳에서 먹어야 했다.”
19. 아론이 모세에게 대답했습니다. “오늘 그들이 여호와 앞에서 자기들을 위한 속죄제물과 번제물을 냈지만 내게 이런 일이 생겼소. 그러니 오늘 내가 그 속죄제물을 먹었다면 여호와께서 그것을 선하게 보셨겠소?”
20. 모세는 이 말을 듣고 만족했습니다.

1. Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense; and they offered unauthorized fire before the LORD, contrary to his command.
2. So fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed them, and they died before the LORD.
3. Moses then said to Aaron, "This is what the LORD spoke of when he said: "`Among those who approach me I will show myself holy; in the sight of all the people I will be honored.'" Aaron remained silent.
4. Moses summoned Mishael and Elzaphan, sons of Aaron's uncle Uzziel, and said to them, "Come here; carry your cousins outside the camp, away from the front of the sanctuary."
5. So they came and carried them, still in their tunics, outside the camp, as Moses ordered.
6. Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar, "Do not let your hair become unkempt, and do not tear your clothes, or you will die and the LORD will be angry with the whole community. But your relatives, all the house of Israel, may mourn for those the LORD has destroyed by fire.
7. Do not leave the entrance to the Tent of Meeting or you will die, because the LORD's anointing oil is on you." So they did as Moses said.
8. Then the LORD said to Aaron,
9. "You and your sons are not to drink wine or other fermented drink whenever you go into the Tent of Meeting, or you will die. This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come.
10. You must distinguish between the holy and the common, between the unclean and the clean,
11. and you must teach the Israelites all the decrees the LORD has given them through Moses."
12. Moses said to Aaron and his remaining sons, Eleazar and Ithamar, "Take the grain offering left over from the offerings made to the LORD by fire and eat it prepared without yeast beside the altar, for it is most holy.
13. Eat it in a holy place, because it is your share and your sons' share of the offerings made to the LORD by fire; for so I have been commanded.
14. But you and your sons and your daughters may eat the breast that was waved and the thigh that was presented. Eat them in a ceremonially clean place; they have been given to you and your children as your share of the Israelites' fellowship offerings.
15. The thigh that was presented and the breast that was waved must be brought with the fat portions of the offerings made by fire, to be waved before the LORD as a wave offering. This will be the regular share for you and your children, as the LORD has commanded."
16. When Moses inquired about the goat of the sin offering and found that it had been burned up, he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's remaining sons, and asked,
17. "Why didn't you eat the sin offering in the sanctuary area? It is most holy; it was given to you to take away the guilt of the community by making atonement for them before the LORD.
18. Since its blood was not taken into the Holy Place, you should have eaten the goat in the sanctuary area, as I commanded."
19. Aaron replied to Moses, "Today they sacrificed their sin offering and their burnt offering before the LORD, but such things as this have happened to me. Would the LORD have been pleased if I had eaten the sin offering today?"
20. When Moses heard this, he was satisfied.

1. ויקחו בני אהרן נדב ואביהוא איש מחתתו ויתנו בהן אש וישימו עליה קטרת ויקרבו לפני יהוה אש זרה אשר לא צוה אתם׃
2. ותצא אש מלפני יהוה ותאכל אותם וימתו לפני יהוה׃
3. ויאמר משה אל אהרן הוא אשר דבר יהוה לאמר בקרבי אקדש ועל פני כל העם אכבד וידם אהרן׃
4. ויקרא משה אל מישאל ואל אלצפן בני עזיאל דד אהרן ויאמר אלהם קרבו שאו את אחיכם מאת פני הקדש אל מחוץ למחנה׃
5. ויקרבו וישאם בכתנתם אל מחוץ למחנה כאשר דבר משה׃
6. ויאמר משה אל אהרן ולאלעזר ולאיתמר בניו ראשיכם אל תפרעו ובגדיכם לא תפרמו ולא תמתו ועל כל העדה יקצף ואחיכם כל בית ישראל יבכו את השרפה אשר שרף יהוה׃
7. ומפתח אהל מועד לא תצאו פן תמתו כי שמן משחת יהוה עליכם ויעשו כדבר משה׃
8. וידבר יהוה אל אהרן לאמר׃
9. יין ושכר אל תשת אתה ובניך אתך בבאכם אל אהל מועד ולא תמתו חקת עולם לדרתיכם׃
10. ולהבדיל בין הקדש ובין החל ובין הטמא ובין הטהור׃
11. ולהורת את בני ישראל את כל החקים אשר דבר יהוה אליהם ביד משה׃
12. וידבר משה אל אהרן ואל אלעזר ואל איתמר בניו הנותרים קחו את המנחה הנותרת מאשי יהוה ואכלוה מצות אצל המזבח כי קדש קדשים הוא׃
13. ואכלתם אתה במקום קדש כי חקך וחק בניך הוא מאשי יהוה כי כן צויתי׃
14. ואת חזה התנופה ואת שוק התרומה תאכלו במקום טהור אתה ובניך ובנתיך אתך כי חקך וחק בניך נתנו מזבחי שלמי בני ישראל׃
15. שוק התרומה וחזה התנופה על אשי החלבים יביאו להניף תנופה לפני יהוה והיה לך ולבניך אתך לחק עולם כאשר צוה יהוה׃
16. ואת שעיר החטאת דרש דרש משה והנה שרף ויקצף על אלעזר ועל איתמר בני אהרן הנותרם לאמר׃
17. מדוע לא אכלתם את החטאת במקום הקדש כי קדש קדשים הוא ואתה נתן לכם לשאת את עון העדה לכפר עליהם לפני יהוה׃
18. הן לא הובא את דמה אל הקדש פנימה אכול תאכלו אתה בקדש כאשר צויתי׃
19. וידבר אהרן אל משה הן היום הקריבו את חטאתם ואת עלתם לפני יהוה ותקראנה אתי כאלה ואכלתי חטאת היום הייטב בעיני יהוה׃
20. וישמע משה וייטב בעיניו׃
