제1항 우리 주 하나님은 오직 한분이신 살아 계신 참 하나님이시다. (고전 8:6, 신 6:4) 그는 자존하시며 (렘 10:10, 사 48:12) 무한하시고, 완전하시다. (출 3:14) 그의 본체는 불가해하며, 가장 순결한 영이시고 (요 4:24) 비가시적이며, 육체도 없으시고 육체의 부분도 없으시며 육적인 성정도 없으시고, 불멸하시며, 사람이 접근할 수 없는 빛 가운데 거하신다.
