12월 31일 스펄전 아침묵상 “명절 끝날 곧 큰날에 예수께서 서서 외쳐 가라사대 누구든지 목마르거든 내게로 와서 마시라.” [요한복음 7장 37절]

"In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink" (John 7: 37).

Patience had her perfect work in the Lord Jesus.  Until the last day of the feast, He pleaded with the Jews.  On this last day of the year, He pleads with us and waits to be gracious to us.  Admirable is the long-suffering of the Savior in bearing with some of us year after year, notwithstanding our provocations, rebellions, and resistance of His Holy Spirit.  Wonder of wonders that we are still in the land of mercy.  He entreats us to be reconciled.  How deep must be the love which makes the Lord weep over sinners.  Surely at the call of such a cry our willing hearts will come.  All that man needs to quench his soul's thirst is provided.  Though the soul is utterly famished, Jesus can restore it.  Proclamation is made, most freely, that every thirsty one is welcome.  He bore our sins in His own body on the tree.  Come now and drink, before the sun sets on the year's last day!  A fool, a thief, a harlot can drink.  Sinfulness of character is no bar to the invitation to believe in Jesus.  The mouth of poverty is welcome to stoop down and take a deep drink of the flowing flood.  Blistered, leprous, filthy lips may touch the stream of divine love.  They cannot pollute it, but will themselves be purified.  Jesus is the source of hope.  Dear reader, hear the Redeemer's loving voice as He cries to each of us, "If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink."

제목 : 끝 날의 초대

요절 : "명절 끝날 곧 큰 날에 예수께서 서서 외쳐 가라사대 누구든지 목마르거든 내게로 와서 마시라"(요7:37) 

인내가 주 예수님 안에서 그의 일을 온전히 이루었습니다. 예수님은 명절(유월절)의 끝 날까지 "내게로 와서 마시라"고 유대인에게 간청했습니다. 금년의 마지막 날인 오늘도(12월 31일), 우리에게 은혜를 주시기 위하여 우리에게 오라고 간청하시며 기다리고 계십니다. 우리가 그토록 주님의 성령을 근심케 하고, 반항하고, 적대함에도 불구하고 계속해서(해마다) 우리들을 오래 참아주시는 주님의 사랑(long-suffering)은 참으로 감탄할만 합니다.(역자주1)

우리가 아직도 자비(은혜)의 땅에 살고 있다는 것은 참으로 기적 중의 기적입니다.(역자주2)  주님은 우리에게 화목하라고 간청하십니다. 죄인을 위하여 슬피 우시는 주님의 사랑은 너무도 깊은 사랑이십니다. 그러므로 주님의 오라는 외침(요7:37)에 합(合)한 우리의 심령들은 기꺼이 주님께로 나아올 것입니다.(역자주3)  주님께서는 인간의 영원의 갈증을 식히기 위하여 필요로 하는 모든 것을 다 준비하고 계십니다. 우리 영혼이 완전히 굶주려 있지만, 예수님은 그것을 회복시켜 주실 수 있습니다. 목마른 자는 누구나 정말로 돈 없이 오는 것을 환영한다는 선언서가 공포되었습니다.(역자주4)  주님은 그 자신의 몸으로 나무(십자가) 위에서 우리의 죄를 담당하셨습니다. 오늘 섣달 그믐날(마지막 날)의 해가 지기 전에 주님께 와서 그 분이 주시는 물(생명수)을 값없이 마음껏 마십시오. 어리석은 사람이나, 강도나, 매춘부도 마실 수 있습니다. 인간의 사악성(肆惡性)은 예수님을 믿으라는 초청에 전혀 방해(지장)가 되지 않습니다.

가난한 입(목마른 입)은 주님의 생수의 강물에 허리를 굽혀서 입에 물이 넘쳐 흐르도록 흠뻑 마셔도 좋습니다. 부르터 물집이 생긴 입이나, 문둥병에 걸린 입이나. 오염된 더러운 입술이라도, 하나님의 사랑의 강물을 마실 수 있습니다. 그들은 그 강물을 오염시킬 수 없습니다. 오히려 그 물로 그들 자신이 정결케 될 것입니다. 예수님은 소망의 근원이십니다. 사랑하는 독자여, 우리들 각자에게 외치시는 구세주의 사랑의 음성을 들으십시오.  "누구든지 목마르거든 내게로 와서 마시라"(요7:37)
