1 소나 양이 길을 잃고 헤매는 것을 보거든, 여러분은 못 본 척하지 말고 주인에게 돌려주어야 합니다.
2 주인이 가까운 곳에 살지 않거나 혹은 누군지 모를 경우에는, 길 잃은 짐승을 자기 집으로 끌고 와서 주인이 찾으러 올 때까지 돌보아 주어야 합니다.
3 나귀든 외투든 그렇게 해야 합니다. 이웃이 잃어버린 것들은 어떤 것이든 못 본 척하지 말고, 주인에게 돌려주도록 힘써야 합니다.
4 이웃의 나귀나 소가 쓰러져 있는 것을 볼 때에도, 여러분은 못 본 척하지 마십시오. 그 주인을 도와서 나귀나 소를 일으켜 주어야 합니다.
5 ○ 여자는 남자 옷을 입지 말고, 남자도 여자 옷을 입지 마십시오. 하나님께서는 그런 자를 아주 싫어하십니다.
6 ○ 길을 가다가 나무 위에서나 땅바닥에서 알이나 새끼를 품고 있는 어미 새를 만나거든, 그런 어미 새는 잡아가지 말아야 합니다.
7 새끼들은 잡아가도 되지만, 어미 새는 반드시 놓아주어야 합니다. 그래야 여러분이 복을 받아 오래 살 것입니다.
8 ○ 새 집을 짓거든, 지붕 가장자리에 난간을 만들도록 하십시오. 그래야 누군가가 지붕에서 떨어져 죽어도, 살인죄를 면할 수 있습니다.
9 ○ 포도나무 사이에 다른 씨앗을 뿌리지 마십시오. 그렇게 농사를 지으면, 그 수확물은 모조리 성소의 제사장들에게 압수를 당하여, 여러분이 차지할 수가 없게 됩니다.
10 소와 나귀를 한 멍에에 매어 밭을 갈지 마십시오.
11 털실과 베실을 함께 섞어서 짠 옷은 입지 마십시오.
12 ○ 여러분이 입는 겉옷의 네 귀퉁이에 술을 매달도록 하십시오. 그래서 그것을 볼 때마다 하나님의 계명을 기억하도록 하십시오.

17 내 딸이 처녀가 아니었다고 온갖 비방을 합니다. 그러나 내 딸이 처녀였다는 증거물이 여기에 있습니다.’ 그런 다음, 그 여자의 부모는 피 묻은 딸의 잠옷을 증거물로 성읍의 장로들 앞에 펴 보여야 합니다.
18 그러면, 성읍의 장로들은 그 남자를 붙잡아 채찍질을 하고,
19 이스라엘 처녀에게 누명을 씌운 대가로, 은 100세겔의 벌금을 여자의 아버지에게 지불하도록 해야 합니다. 그러고도 그 남자는 그 여자를 다시 자기 아내로 데리고 살아야 하며, 평생토록 그녀를 버릴 수 없습니다.
20 그러나 남자의 말이 사실이어서, 그 여자의 부모가 자기 딸이 처녀였다는 증거물을 제시하지 못하면,
21 그 여자를 자기 아버지 집의 대문 앞에 끌어다 놓고, 마을 주민들이 돌로 쳐 죽여야 합니다. 그 여자는 아버지의 집에 살 당시에 몸가짐이 창녀와 같았기 때문입니다. 그런 죄악은 이스라엘에서 뿌리 뽑아야 합니다.
22 ○ 어떤 남자가 남의 아내와 잠자리를 갖다가 현장에서 붙잡히면, 남자와 여자를 둘 다 돌로 쳐 죽여야 합니다. 그런 죄악은 이스라엘에서 뿌리 뽑아야 합니다.
23 ○ 이미 약혼한 처녀가 다른 남자와 함께 잤는데, 그것이 만약 성 안에서 벌어진 일이라면,
24 둘 다 성문 앞으로 끌고 가서 돌로 쳐 죽여야 합니다. 만일 그 여자가 소리를 질렀다면, 누구든지 도와줄 수가 있었을 텐데 소리를 지르지 않았기 때문입니다. 법적으로 이미 남의 아내가 된 처녀를 더럽힌 남자도 함께 죽여야 합니다. 그런 죄악은 이스라엘에서 뿌리 뽑아야 합니다.
25 ○ 그러나 인적이 없는 들녘에서 다른 남자가 약혼한 처녀를 겁탈했을 경우에는, 남자만 죽여야 합니다.
26 그 약혼한 처녀에게는 죽일 만한 죄를 씌울 수가 없습니다. 이 경우에 겁탈한 남자만 죽여야 하는 이유는, 마치 갑자기 덤벼들어 다른 사람을 쳐 죽인 경우와 똑같기 때문입니다.
27 그 약혼한 처녀가 들녘에서 아무리 소리를 질렀다고 해도, 근처에 구해 줄 사람이 아무도 없었을 것이기 때문에, 그 여자에게는 죄가 없습니다.
28 ○ 어떤 남자가 다른 남자와 약혼한 적이 없는 처녀를 겁탈하다가 현장에서 붙잡히면,
29 그 남자는 처녀의 아버지에게 은 50세겔을 주어야 합니다. 그리고 그는 처녀를 더럽힌 대가로 그 여자를 아내로 삼아 일평생 데리고 살아야 하고, 절대로 이혼할 수 없습니다.
30 ○ 누구도 자기 아버지의 아내였던 여자와 결혼을 해서는 안 됩니다. 그것은 자기 아버지를 수치스럽게 하는 일입니다.

1. If you see your brother's ox or sheep straying, do not ignore it but be sure to take it back to him. 2. If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the girl's virginity can be found, 21. she shall be brought to the door of her father's house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done a disgraceful thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father's house. You must purge the evil from among you. 22. If a man is found sleeping with another man's wife, both the man who slept with her and the woman must die. You must purge the evil from Israel. 23. If a man happens to meet in a town a virgin pledged to be married and he sleeps with her, 24. you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them to death -- the girl because she was in a town and did not scream for help, and the man because he violated another man's wife. If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29. he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives. 30. A man is not to marry his father's wife; he must not dishonor his father's bed.
