1 'At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people-everyone whose name is found written in the book-will be delivered. 1 וּבָעֵת הַהִיא יַעֲמֹד מִיכָאֵל הַשַּׂר הַגָּדֹול הָעֹמֵד עַל־בְּנֵי עַמֶּךָ וְהָיְתָה עֵת צָרָה אֲשֶׁר לֹא־נִהְיְתָה מִהְיֹות גֹּוי עַד הָעֵת הַהִיא וּבָעֵת הַהִיא יִמָּלֵט עַמְּךָ כָּל־הַנִּמְצָא כָּתוּב בַּסֵּפֶר׃ 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. 2 וְרַבִּים מִיְּשֵׁנֵי אַדְמַת־עָפָר יָקִיצוּ אֵלֶּה לְחַיֵּי עֹולָם וְאֵלֶּה לַחֲרָפֹות לְדִרְאֹון עֹולָם׃ ס 3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. 3 וְהַמַּשְׂכִּלִים יַזְהִרוּ כְּזֹהַר הָרָקִיעַ וּמַצְדִּיקֵי הָרַבִּים כַּכֹּוכָבִים לְעֹולָם וָעֶד׃ ף 4 But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.' 4 וְאַתָּה דָנִיֵּאל סְתֹם הַדְּבָרִים וַחֲתֹם הַסֵּפֶר עַד־עֵת קֵץ יְשֹׁטְטוּ רַבִּים וְתִרְבֶּה הַדָּעַת׃ 5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank. 5 וְרָאִיתִי אֲנִי דָנִיֵּאל וְהִנֵּה שְׁנַיִם אֲחֵרִים עֹמְדִים אֶחָד הֵנָּה לִשְׂפַת הַיְאֹר וְאֶחָד הֵנָּה לִשְׂפַת הַיְאֹר׃ 6 One of them said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, 'How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?' 6 וַיֹּאמֶר לָאִישׁ לְבוּשׁ הַבַּדִּים אֲשֶׁר מִמַּעַל לְמֵימֵי הַיְאֹר עַד־מָתַי קֵץ הַפְּלָאֹות׃ 7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, 'It will be for a time, times and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.' 7 וָאֶשְׁמַע אֶת־הָאִישׁ לְבוּשׁ הַבַּדִּים אֲשֶׁר מִמַּעַל לְמֵימֵי הַיְאֹר וַיָּרֶם יְמִינֹו וּשְׂמֹאלֹו אֶל־הַשָּׁמַיִם וַיִּשָּׁבַע בְּחֵי הָעֹולָם כִּי לְמֹועֵד מֹועֲדִים וָחֵצִי וּכְכַלֹּות נַפֵּץ יַד־עַם־קֹדֶשׁ תִּכְלֶינָה כָל־אֵלֶּה׃ 8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, 'My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?' 8 וַאֲנִי שָׁמַעְתִּי וְלֹא אָבִין וָאֹמְרָה אֲדֹנִי מָה אַחֲרִית אֵלֶּה׃ ף 9 He replied, 'Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. 9 וַיֹּאמֶר לֵךְ דָּנִיֵּאל כִּי־סְתֻמִים וַחֲתֻמִים הַדְּבָרִים עַד־עֵת קֵץ׃ 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand. 10 יִתְבָּרֲרוּ וְיִתְלַבְּנוּ וְיִצָּרְפוּ רַבִּים וְהִרְשִׁיעוּ רְשָׁעִים וְלֹא יָבִינוּ כָּל־רְשָׁעִים וְהַמַּשְׂכִּלִים יָבִינוּ׃ 11 'From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 11 וּמֵעֵת הוּסַר הַתָּמִיד וְלָתֵת שִׁקּוּץ שֹׁםֵם יָמִים אֶלֶף מָאתַיִם וְתִשְׁעִים׃ 12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days. 12 אַשְׁרֵי הַמְחַכֶּה וְיַגִּיעַ לְיָמִים אֶלֶף שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאֹות שְׁלֹשִׁים וַחֲמִשָּׁה׃ 13 'As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.' 13 וְאַתָּה לֵךְ לַקֵּץ וְתָנוּחַ וְתַעֲמֹד לְגֹרָלְךָ לְקֵץ הַיָּמִין׃
1그 때에 네 민족을 호위하는 큰 군주 미가엘이 일어날 것이요 또 환난이 있으리니 이는 개국 이래로 그 때까지 없던 환난일 것이며 그 때에 네 백성 중 책에 기록된 모든 자가 구원을 받을 것이라 2땅의 티끌 가운데에서 자는 자 중에서 많은 사람이 깨어나 영생을 받는 자도 있겠고 수치를 당하여서 영원히 부끄러움을 당할 자도 있을 것이며 3지혜 있는 자는 궁창의 빛과 같이 빛날 것이요 많은 사람을 옳은 데로 돌아오게 한 자는 별과 같이 영원토록 빛나리라 4다니엘아 마지막 때까지 이 말을 간수하고 이 글을 봉함하라 많은 사람이 빨리 왕래하며 지식이 더하리라 5나 다니엘이 본즉 다른 두 사람이 있어 하나는 강 이쪽 언덕에 섰고 하나는 강 저쪽 언덕에 섰더니 6그 중에 하나가 세마포 옷을 입은 자 곧 강물 위쪽에 있는 자에게 이르되 이 놀라운 일의 끝이 어느 때까지냐 하더라 7내가 들은즉 그 세마포 옷을 입고 강물 위쪽에 있는 자가 자기의 좌우 손을 들어 하늘을 향하여 영원히 살아 계시는 이를 가리켜 맹세하여 이르되 반드시 한 때 두 때 반 때를 지나서 성도의 권세가 다 깨지기까지이니 그렇게 되면 이 모든 일이 다 끝나리라 하더라 8내가 듣고도 깨닫지 못한지라 내가 이르되 내 주여 이 모든 일의 결국이 어떠하겠나이까 하니 9그가 이르되 다니엘아 갈지어다 이 말은 마지막 때까지 간수하고 봉함할 것임이니라 10많은 사람이 연단을 받아 스스로 정결하게 하며 희게 할 것이나 악한 사람은 악을 행하리니 악한 자는 아무것도 깨닫지 못하되 오직 지혜 있는 자는 깨달으리라 11매일 드리는 제사를 폐하며 멸망하게 할 가증한 것을 세울 때부터 천이백구십 일을 지낼 것이요 12기다려서 천삼백삼십오 일까지 이르는 그 사람은 복이 있으리라 13너는 가서 마지막을 기다리라 이는 네가 평안히 쉬다가 끝날에는 네 몫을 누릴 것임이라
