Day 7 Morning/John Baillie, A Diary of Private Prayer/O Light that never fades, as the light of day now streams through these windows and floods this room, so let me open to You the windows of my heart, that all my life may be filled by the radiance of Your presence.

 Lord and Maker of all things, from whose creative power the first light came forth, who did look upon the world's first morning and see that it was good, I praise You for this light that now streams through my windows to rouse me to the life of another day.

I praise You for the life that stirs within me;

I praise You for the bright and beautiful world into which I go;

I praise You for earth and sea and sky, for scudding cloud and singing bird;

I praise You for the work You have given me to do;

I praise You for all that You have given me to fill my leisure hours;

I praise You for my friends;

I praise You for music and books and good company and all pure pleasures.

You who thyself art everlasting Mercy, give me a tender heart today towards all those to whom the morning light brings less joy than it brings to me:

Those in whom the pulse grows weak;

Those who must lie abed through all the light of day;

The blind, who are shut off from light of day;

The overworked, who have no joy of leisure;

The unemployed, who have no joy of work;

The bereaved, whose hearts and homes are desolate;

And grant Your mercy on them all.

O Light that never fades, as the light of day now streams through these windows and floods this room, so let me open to You the windows of my heart, that all my life may be filled by the radiance of Your presence. Let no corner of my being be unlit by the light of Your countenance. Let there be nothing within me to darken the brightness of the day. Let the Spirit of Him whose life was the light of men rule within my heart till eventide. Amen.

만물의 창조주이신 주님, 당신의 창조의 능력에서 첫 번째 빛이 시작되었고 주님은 이 땅의 첫 아침을 좋게 여기셨습니다. 오늘도 새로운 날의 삶으로 나를 깨우기 위해 창문을 통해 빛을 보내 주심을 찬송합니다.

내 안에서 일으키시는 생명으로 인하여 주님을 찬송합니다.

내가 살아가는 밝고도 아름다운 세상으로 인하여 주님을 찬송합니다.

땅과 바다와 하늘, 흐르는 구름과 노래하는 새들로 인하여 주님을 찬송합니다.

나에게 행하라고 주신 일들로 인하여 주님을 찬송합니다.

나의 여가의 시간을 보낼 수 있도록 허락하신 것들로 인하여 주님을 찬송합니다.

내 친구들로 인하여 주님을 찬송합니다.

음악과 책, 그리고 선한 동반자들과 모든 순수한 즐거움으로 인하여 주님을 찬송합니다.

영원히 자비로우신 주님, 아침의 햇살이 나에게 주는 것보다 덜 기쁨을 느끼는 사람들을 향하는 부드러운 마음을 주시옵소서.

생명의 맥박이 점점 약해지는 사람들에게

종일토록 침상에 누워있어야 하는 사람들에게

밝은 빛을 보지 못하는 사람들에게

휴식의 즐거움을 갖지 못하는 과도한 노동자들에게

노동의 즐거움을 갖지 못하는 일자리 없는 사람들에게

마음과 가정이 외로운 사별한 사람들에게

당신의 자비를 허락해 주시옵소서.

사라지지 않는 빛이신 주여, 지금 이 창문을 통하여 낮의 햇빛이 밀려들어오는 것처럼 내 마음의 창문을 당신을 향해 열게 하시고, 나의 모든 삶이 당신의 임재의 비추심으로 채워지게 하소서. 나의 존재의 어느 구석이라도 당신의 얼굴의 빛으로 비추이게 하소서. 이 날의 밝음을 어둡게 하는 것이 내 안에 없게 하소서. 인간의 빛 되신 그의 영이 저녁까지 내 마음을 지배하소서. 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도하옵나이다. 아멘.

모든 만물의 조물주가 되시는 주님,

당신의 창조의 능력에서 처음 빛이 세상을 비추었고, 주께서 세상의 첫 아침을 내려다보시면서 보기에 좋다 하셨습니다. 지금 이 시간 제 창문을 통해 들어오는 이 빛, 새로운 하루의 삶을 시작하도록 깨어나게 하신 주님을 찬양합니다.

제 안에 솟구치는 생명력을 주신 주님을 찬양합니다.

제가 오늘 내딛게 될 아름답고 환한 세상을 주신 주님을 찬양합니다.

하늘과 땅과 바다와 흘러가는 구름과 노래하는 새들을 주신 주님을 찬양합니다.

오늘 제가 감당할 일들을 마련해 주신 주님을 찬양합니다.

제 여가 시간을 보내도록 모든 것을 주신 주님을 찬양합니다.

제 친구들을 주신 주님을 찬양합니다.

음악과 책과 좋은 동료와 온갖 순전한 즐거움들을 주신 주님을 찬양합니다.

영원히 홀로 자비로우신 오 하나님,

제게는 기쁨을 주는 이 아침 빛의 기쁨을 모르는 이들을 향해,

따스한 마음을 품게 하여 주옵소서.

생의 맥박이 점점 약해져 가는 이들을 향해,

햇볕 따스한 날 내내 자리에 누워 있어야만 하는 이들을 향해,

오늘 이 빛에 눈 감아야 하는 앞 못 보는 이들을 향해,

할 일이 너무 많아 쉬는 기쁨을 누릴 수 없는 이들을 향해,

할 일이 없어 일하는 기쁨을 누릴 수 없는 이들을 향해,

사랑하는 이들을 잃고 그 마음이 쓸쓸하고 그 집이 서늘한 이들을 향해,

오 하나님, 주의 자비를 베풀어 주옵소서.

창문을 넘어 방 안으로 흘러들어오는 이 아침 빛처럼 결코 꺼지지 않은 빛이 되신 주님,

제 마음의 창문을 주를 향하여 활짝 열어서 제 모든 삶이 주의 임재의 빛으로 가득 채워지게 하옵소서, 그리하여 제 심령 어느 한 곳 주님의 얼굴빛이 미치지 않는 곳이 없게 하옵소서.

이 날의 광명을 어둡게 하는 것이 제 안에 하나도 없게 하옵소서.

우리 생명의 빛이 되시는 성령께서 이 하루가 다 가도록 제 마음을 다스려 주옵소서. 아멘.
