1 하나님께서 여러분에게 유산으로 주시는 가나안 땅에 들어가서, 그 땅을 차지하여 정착하고 살게 되면,

2 여러분의 하나님께서 주시는 그 땅에서 거두는 모든 농산물의 첫 열매를 광주리에 담아서, 하나님께서 자신의 이름을 두시기로 선택하실 성소로 가져가도록 하십시오.

3 그런 후, 거기에서 직무를 맡고 있는 제사장 앞으로 나아가 말하십시오. ‘주께서 우리 조상들에게 주시겠다고 약속하신 대로, 지금 내가 이 땅에 들어왔음을 오늘 제사장께서 섬기시는 하나님께 아룁니다.’

4 그러면, 제사장은 여러분의 손에서 광주리를 받아다가 하나님의 제단 앞에 놓을 것입니다.

5 그때 여러분은 하나님께 이처럼 신앙 고백을 하십시오. ‘우리 조상은 떠돌아다니며 살았던 아람 사람이었는데, 그가 가족을 거느리고 이집트로 내려가서 거기에 살면서, 그 땅에서 크고 강한 민족으로 번창했습니다.

6 하지만 이집트 사람들이 우리를 학대하고 괴롭히면서 우리에게 힘든 노동을 시켰습니다.

7 그래서 우리가 우리 조상의 하나님께 부르짖었더니 주께서 우리 호소를 들으시고, 강제 노동을 당하는 우리의 비참한 모습을 굽어 살피셨습니다.

8 마침내 주께서 강한 손과 뻗친 팔로 온갖 이적과 기적을 베풀어, 우리를 이집트 땅에서 이끌어내어 주셨습니다.

9 이제 주께서 우리를 이곳으로 인도해 주시고, 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 이 땅을 우리에게 주셨습니다.

10 그러므로 주께서 제게 주신 이 땅에서 제가 농사를 지어 첫 열매를 거두었기에, 이제 여기 가져왔습니다.’ 이렇게 말한 후에, 여러분은 곡식 광주리를 여러분의 하나님 앞에 놓고, 하나님 앞에 엎드려 경배하십시오.

11 그런 다음, 주께서 여러분과 여러분의 집안에 주신 온갖 좋은 것들을 함께 나누어 먹으며 기뻐하십시오. 이때 여러분과 함께 사는 레위 사람과 외국인들도 더불어 기쁨을 나누도록 배려하십시오.

12 여러분은 3년마다 한 번씩 여러분이 거둔 것의 10분의 1을 따로 모아서, 레위 사람과 외국인 및 고아와 과부에게 나누어 주어서 마음껏 먹게 하십시오.

13 그런 다음, 여러분의 하나님 앞에 나와서 이렇게 아뢰십시오. ‘저는 주께서 명하신 대로, 제가 주께 바쳐야 할 것들을 레위 사람과 외국인 및 고아와 과부에게 나누어 주었습니다. 저는 주님의 모든 명령을 하나도 잊지 않고 그대로 다 지켰습니다.

14 저는 애곡하는 날일지라도 주께 바치는 거룩한 몫에서 떼어먹은 일이 없고, 부정한 몸으로 거룩한 몫을 주께 바친 적도 없으며, 또 그것을 죽은 사람에게 바친 일도 없습니다. 우리는 주께서 명령하신 대로 다 지켰습니다.

15 주님의 거룩한 처소인 하늘에서 내려다보시고, 주님의 백성인 이스라엘에게 복을 내려주시고, 또 주께서 우리 조상들에게 약속하신 대로 우리에게 주신 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 이 땅에 복을 내려주시옵소서.’

16 오늘날 하나님께서 여러분에게 이 모든 계명과 규정을 지키며 살도록 명령하셨습니다. 그러니 여러분은 온 마음과 온 영혼으로 주의 계명과 규정을 잘 지켜 행하도록 하십시오.

17 오늘날 여러분은 주님의 길로만 걸어가고, 주님의 계명과 명령과 규정을 모두 지키겠으며, 오직 주께만 순종하겠다고 약속하셨습니다.

18 오늘날 주께서는, 주께서 여러분에게 약속하신대로 여러분을 주의 소중한 백성으로 받아들이셨으므로, 여러분은 주께서 명령하신 모든 것들을 잘 지켜야 합니다.

19 그러면 주께서는, 주께서 지으신 세상의 모든 민족들보다 여러분을 더욱 높여 주셔서 칭찬과 명성과 영광을 누리게 하실 것이고, 또 주께서 여러분에게 약속하신 대로 여러분을 주의 거룩한 백성이 되게 하실 것입니다.”

1.  When you have entered the land the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance and have taken possession of it and settled in it, 2.  take some of the firstfruits of all that you produce from the soil of the land the LORD your God is giving you and put them in a basket. Then go to the place the LORD your God will choose as a dwelling for his Name 3.  and say to the priest in office at the time, "I declare today to the LORD your God that I have come to the land the LORD swore to our forefathers to give us." 4.  The priest shall take the basket from your hands and set it down in front of the altar of the LORD your God. 5.  Then you shall declare before the LORD your God: "My father was a wandering Aramean, and he went down into Egypt with a few people and lived there and became a great nation, powerful and numerous. 6.  But the Egyptians mistreated us and made us suffer, putting us to hard labor. 7.  Then we cried out to the LORD, the God of our fathers, and the LORD heard our voice and saw our misery, toil and oppression. 8.  So the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with great terror and with miraculous signs and wonders. 9.  He brought us to this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey; 10.  and now I bring the firstfruits of the soil that you, O LORD, have given me." Place the basket before the LORD your God and bow down before him. 11.  And you and the Levites and the aliens among you shall rejoice in all the good things the LORD your God has given to you and your household. 12.  When you have finished setting aside a tenth of all your produce in the third year, the year of the tithe, you shall give it to the Levite, the alien, the fatherless and the widow, so that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied. 13.  Then say to the LORD your God: "I have removed from my house the sacred portion and have given it to the Levite, the alien, the fatherless and the widow, according to all you commanded. I have not turned aside from your commands nor have I forgotten any of them. 14.  I have not eaten any of the sacred portion while I was in mourning, nor have I removed any of it while I was unclean, nor have I offered any of it to the dead. I have obeyed the LORD my God; I have done everything you commanded me. 15.  Look down from heaven, your holy dwelling place, and bless your people Israel and the land you have given us as you promised on oath to our forefathers, a land flowing with milk and honey." 16.  The LORD your God commands you this day to follow these decrees and laws; carefully observe them with all your heart and with all your soul. 17.  You have declared this day that the LORD is your God and that you will walk in his ways, that you will keep his decrees, commands and laws, and that you will obey him. 18.  And the LORD has declared this day that you are his people, his treasured possession as he promised, and that you are to keep all his commands. 19.  He has declared that he will set you in praise, fame and honor high above all the nations he has made and that you will be a people holy to the LORD your God, as he promised.
