열왕기상 14장 [개역개정] 1 Kings chapter 14

1그 때에 여로보암의 아들 아비야가 병든지라		1At that time Abijah son of Jeroboam became ill,
2여로보암이 자기 아내에게 이르되 청하건대 일어나 변장하여 사람들이 그대가 여로보암의 아내임을 알지 못하게 하고 실로로 가라 거기 선지자 아히야가 있나니 그는 이전에 내가 이 백성의 왕이 될 것을 내게 말한 사람이니라		2and Jeroboam said to his wife, "Go, disguise yourself, so you won't be recognized as the wife of Jeroboam. Then go to Shiloh. Ahijah the prophet is there-the one who told me I would be king over this people.
3그대의 손에 떡 열 개와 과자와 꿀 한 병을 가지고 그에게로 가라 그가 그대에게 이 아이가 어떻게 될지를 알게 하리라		3Take ten loaves of bread with you, some cakes and a jar of honey, and go to him. He will tell you what will happen to the boy.'
4여로보암의 아내가 그대로 하여 일어나 실로로 가서 아히야의 집에 이르니 아히야는 나이가 많아 눈이 어두워 보지 못하더라		4So Jeroboam's wife did what he said and went to Ahijah's house in Shiloh. Now Ahijah could not see; his sight was gone because of his age.
5여호와께서 아히야에게 이르시되 여로보암의 아내가 자기 아들이 병 들었으므로 네게 물으러 오나니 너는 이러이러하게 대답하라 그가 들어올 때에 다른 사람인 체함이니라		5But the LORD had told Ahijah, "Jeroboam's wife is coming to ask you about her son, for he is ill, and you are to give her such and such an answer. When she arrives, she will pretend to be someone else."
6그가 문으로 들어올 때에 아히야가 그 발소리를 듣고 말하되 여로보암의 아내여 들어오라 네가 어찌하여 다른 사람인 체하느냐 내가 명령을 받아 흉한 일을 네게 전하리니		6So when Ahijah heard the sound of her footsteps at the door, he said, 'Come in, wife of Jeroboam. Why this pretense? I have been sent to you with bad news.
7가서 여로보암에게 말하라 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 내가 너를 백성 중에서 들어 내 백성 이스라엘의 주권자가 되게 하고		7Go, tell Jeroboam that this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'I raised you up from among the people and made you a leader over my people Israel.
8나라를 다윗의 집에서 찢어내어 네게 주었거늘 너는 내 종 다윗이 내 명령을 지켜 전심으로 나를 따르며 나 보기에 정직한 일만 행하였음과 같지 아니하고		8I tore the kingdom away from the house of David and gave it to you, but you have not been like my servant David, who kept my commands and followed me with all his heart, doing only what was right in my eyes.
9네 이전 사람들보다도 더 악을 행하고 가서 너를 위하여 다른 신을 만들며 우상을 부어 만들어 나를 노엽게 하고 나를 네 등 뒤에 버렸도다		9You have done more evil than all who lived before you. You have made for yourself other gods, idols made of metal; you have provoked me to anger and thrust me behind your back.
10그러므로 내가 여로보암의 집에 재앙을 내려 여로보암에게 속한 사내는 이스라엘 가운데 매인 자나 놓인 자나 다 끊어 버리되 거름 더미를 쓸어 버림 같이 여로보암의 집을 말갛게 쓸어 버릴지라		10" 'Because of this, I am going to bring disaster on the house of Jeroboam. I will cut off from Jeroboam every last male in Israel-slave or free. I will burn up the house of Jeroboam as one burns dung, until it is all gone.
11여로보암에게 속한 자가 성읍에서 죽은즉 개가 먹고 들에서 죽은즉 공중의 새가 먹으리니 이는 여호와께서 말씀하셨음이니라 하셨나니		11Dogs will eat those belonging to Jeroboam who die in the city, and the birds of the air will feed on those who die in the country. The LORD has spoken!'
12너는 일어나 네 집으로 가라 네 발이 성읍에 들어갈 때에 그 아이가 죽을지라		12'As for you, go back home. When you set foot in your city, the boy will die.
13온 이스라엘이 그를 위하여 슬퍼하며 장사하려니와 여로보암에게 속한 자는 오직 이 아이만 묘실에 들어가리니 이는 여로보암의 집 가운데에서 그가 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 향하여 선한 뜻을 품었음이니라		13All Israel will mourn for him and bury him. He is the only one belonging to Jeroboam who will be buried, because he is the only one in the house of Jeroboam in whom the LORD, the God of Israel, has found anything good.
14여호와께서 이스라엘 위에 한 왕을 일으키신즉 그가 그 날에 여로보암의 집을 끊어 버리리라 언제냐 하니 곧 이제라		14'The LORD will raise up for himself a king over Israel who will cut off the family of Jeroboam. This is the day! What? Yes, even now.
15여호와께서 이스라엘을 쳐서 물에서 흔들리는 갈대 같이 되게 하시고 이스라엘을 그의 조상들에게 주신 이 좋은 땅에서 뽑아 그들을 강 너머로 흩으시리니 그들이 아세라 상을 만들어 여호와를 진노하게 하였음이니라		15And the LORD will strike Israel, so that it will be like a reed swaying in the water. He will uproot Israel from this good land that he gave to their forefathers and scatter them beyond the River, because they provoked the LORD to anger by making Asherah poles.
16여호와께서 여로보암의 죄로 말미암아 이스라엘을 버리시리니 이는 그도 범죄하고 이스라엘로 범죄하게 하였음이니라 하니라		16And he will give Israel up because of the sins Jeroboam has committed and has caused Israel to commit.'
17여로보암의 아내가 일어나 디르사로 돌아가서 집 문지방에 이를 때에 그 아이가 죽은지라		17Then Jeroboam's wife got up and left and went to Tirzah. As soon as she stepped over the threshold of the house, the boy died.
18온 이스라엘이 그를 장사하고 그를 위하여 슬퍼하니 여호와께서 그의 종 선지자 아히야를 통하여 하신 말씀과 같이 되었더라		18They buried him, and all Israel mourned for him, as the LORD had said through his servant the prophet Ahijah.
19여로보암의 그 남은 행적 곧 그가 어떻게 싸웠는지와 어떻게 다스렸는지는 이스라엘 왕 역대지략에 기록되니라		19The other events of Jeroboam's reign, his wars and how he ruled, are written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel.
20여로보암이 왕이 된 지 이십이 년이라 그가 그의 조상들과 함께 자매 그의 아들 나답이 대신하여 왕이 되니라		20He reigned for twenty-two years and then rested with his fathers. And Nadab his son succeeded him as king.
21솔로몬의 아들 르호보암은 유다 왕이 되었으니 르호보암이 왕위에 오를 때에 나이가 사십일 세라 여호와께서 자기 이름을 두시려고 이스라엘 모든 지파 가운데에서 택하신 성읍 예루살렘에서 십칠 년 동안 다스리니라 그의 어머니의 이름은 나아마요 암몬 사람이더라		21Rehoboam son of Solomon was king in Judah. He was forty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel in which to put his Name. His mother's name was Naamah; she was an Ammonite.
22유다가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하되 그의 조상들이 행한 모든 일보다 뛰어나게 하여 그 범한 죄로 여호와를 노엽게 하였으니		22Judah did evil in the eyes of the LORD. By the sins they committed they stirred up his jealous anger more than their fathers had done.
23이는 그들도 산 위에와 모든 푸른 나무 아래에 산당과 우상과 아세라 상을 세웠음이라		23They also set up for themselves high places, sacred stones and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every spreading tree.
24그 땅에 또 남색하는 자가 있었고 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 쫓아내신 국민의 모든 가증한 일을 무리가 본받아 행하였더라		24There were even male shrine prostitutes in the land; the people engaged in all the detestable practices of the nations the LORD had driven out before the Israelites.
25르호보암 왕 제오년에 애굽의 왕 시삭이 올라와서 예루살렘을 치고		25In the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt attacked Jerusalem.
26여호와의 성전의 보물과 왕궁의 보물을 모두 빼앗고 또 솔로몬이 만든 금 방패를 다 빼앗은지라		26He carried off the treasures of the temple of the LORD and the treasures of the royal palace. He took everything, including all the gold shields Solomon had made.
27르호보암 왕이 그 대신 놋으로 방패를 만들어 왕궁 문을 지키는 시위대 대장의 손에 맡기매		27So King Rehoboam made bronze shields to replace them and assigned these to the commanders of the guard on duty at the entrance to the royal palace.
28왕이 여호와의 성전에 들어갈 때마다 시위하는 자가 그 방패를 들고 갔다가 시위소로 도로 가져갔더라		28Whenever the king went to the LORD's temple, the guards bore the shields, and afterward they returned them to the guardroom.
29르호보암의 남은 사적과 그가 행한 모든 일은 유다 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐		29As for the other events of Rehoboam's reign, and all he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?
30르호보암과 여로보암 사이에 항상 전쟁이 있으니라		30There was continual warfare between Rehoboam and Jeroboam.
31르호보암이 그의 조상들과 함께 자니 그의 조상들과 함께 다윗 성에 장사되니라 그의 어머니의 이름은 나아마요 암몬 사람이더라 그의 아들 아비얌이 대신하여 왕이 되니라		31And Rehoboam rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David. His mother's name was Naamah; she was an Ammonite. And Abijah his son succeeded him as king.
