Day 8 Evening/John Baillie, A Diary of Private Prayer/O most loving God, who in the Person of Your Son Jesus Christ did manifest Your love to man by relieving all manner of suffering and healing all manner of disease, grant Your blessing, I pray, to all who in any corner of the world are serving in Christ's name:

God, the Father of all mankind, I would bring before You tonight the burden of the world's life. I would join myself to the great scattered company of those who, in every corner of every land, are now crying out to You in their need. Hear us, God, and look in pity upon our manifold necessities, since You alone are able to satisfy all our desires.

Especially do I commend to Your holy keeping:

All who tonight are far from home and friends
All who tonight must lie down hungry or cold
All who suffer pain
All who are kept awake by anxiety or suspense
All who are facing danger
All who must toil or keep watch while others sleep.
Give to them all, I pray, such a sense of Your presence with them as may turn their loneliness into comfort and their trouble into peace.

O most loving God, who in the Person of Your Son Jesus Christ did manifest Your love to man by relieving all manner of suffering and healing all manner of disease, grant Your blessing, I pray, to all who in any corner of the world are serving in Christ's name:

All ministers of the gospel of Christ
All social workers
All missionary workers abroad
All doctors and nurses who faithfully tend the sick.
Accomplish through them Your great purpose of goodwill to men, and grant them in their own hearts the joy of Christ's most real presence.

And to me also, as I lie down, grant, O gracious Father, the joy of a life surrendered to Christ's service and the peace of sin forgiven through the power of His Cross. Amen.

이 시간, 온 세상 구석구석에서 곤경 중에 주께 부르짖고 있는 흩어진 모든 형제들과 하나 되어 주님께 기도합니다.
오 하나님, 주님만이 우리의 모든 소원을 만족시킬 수 있사오니 우리의 기도를 들으시고
우리의 궁핍한 형편에 긍휼을 베풀어 주옵소서.

특별히 이 밤,
친구들이나 집에서 아주 멀리 떨어져 있는 모든 이들과
굶주림과 추위에 떨면서 잠자리에 누워야 하는 모든 이들과
아픔으로 고통당하는 모든 이들과 염려와 불안으로 잠 못 이루는 모든 이들과
위험에 직면하여 있는 모든 이들과 다들 잠든 동안에도 땀 흘려 일하거나 눈 뜨고 지켜야 하는 모든 이들을 주님의 거룩한 품에 맡겨드립니다.

주여 기도하오니
그들의 외로움이 위로로, 그들의 근심이 평강으로 바뀌도록 그들이 모두 자신들과 함께하시는 하나님의 임재를 느낄 수 있도록 함께하여 주옵소서.
당신의 아들 예수 그리스도 안에서 모든 고난과 질병에서 구원하심으로 우리를 향한 사랑을 명백히 드러내신 오 사랑의 하나님, 지금 기도하오니 세상 어는 구석에서든 주님의 이름을 섬기는 모든 이들에게,
그리스도의 복음을 전하는 모든 사역자들에게,
모든 사회사업가들에게, 해외의 모든 선교사들에게,
환자들을 사랑으로 돌아보는 모든 의사와 간호사들에게, 당신의 은총을 내려 주옵소서.
그들을 통해 사람을 향한 하나님의 위대한 목적을 성취하시고 그들 마음에 가장 생생한 그리스도의 임재로 인한 기쁨을 허락하여 주옵소서.

오 자비하신 아버지, 그리고 잠자리에 들 때 저에게도 그리스도의 일에 복종하는 자들만이 누릴 수 있는 기쁨과 그리스도의 십자가의 권능으로 죄를 용서받은 자만이 누릴 수 있는 평강을 허락하여 주옵소서. 아멘.
