Day 10 Evening/John Baillie, A Diary of Private Prayer/I thank You that You inform my mind with Your divine truth and secure my will with Your divine grace.

Almighty and ever-blessed God, I thank You for the love with which You follow me all the days of my life. I thank You that You inform my mind with Your divine truth and secure my will with Your divine grace. I thank You for every evidence of Your Spirit's leading, and for all those little happenings which, though seeming at the time no more than chance, yet afterwards appear to me as part of Your gracious plan for the education of my soul. O let me not refuse Your leading or quench this light which You have kindled within me, but rather let me daily grow in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ my Lord and Master.

Yet I would not think only of myself or pray only for myself, as now I seek Your presence. I would remember before You all my human brothers and sisters who need Your help. Especially tonight I think:

of those who are faced by great temptations

of those who are faced by tasks too great for their powers

of those who stand in any valley of decision

of those who are in debt of poverty

of those who are suffering the consequences of misdeeds long ago repented of

of those who, by reason of early surroundings, have never had a fair chance in life

of all family circles broken by death

of all missionaries of the Kingdom of heaven in far-away corners of the earth

of those who lift high the lamp of truth in lonely places

of those who .... and.... and....

Dear Father of mankind, make me the human channel, so far as in me lies, through which Your divine love and pity may reach the hearts and lives of a few of those who are nearest to me. Amen.

 

영원히 찬양받으실 전능하신 하나님,

늘 제 삶에 함께하시며 베푸시는 주님의 사랑을 감사합니다.

제 마음에 주의 진리를 가르치시고 주의 은혜로 제 의지를 붙들어주셔서 감사합니다.

성령께서 인도하심을 일깨워주시는 모든 증거들을 인하여 감사합니다.

그 당시에는 우연처럼 보였지만 나중엔 저를 가르치시려는 주님의 은혜로운 계획의 일부임을 알게 된, 크고 작은 일들을 인하여 감사합니다.

오 하나님, 제가 주님의 인도하심을 거절하지 않게 하시고 주님께서 제 안에 밝혀주신 빛을 끄지 않게 하시고 주님께서 제 안에 밝혀주신 빛을 끄지 않게 하시고 오히려 날마다 은혜와 나의 주 예수 그리스도를 아는 지식에서 자라 갈 수 있게 하옵소서.

하지만 이 시간 주님의 임재를 추구할 때 저만 생각하거나 저를 위해서만 기도하지 않도록 도와주옵소서.

주님의 도움이 필요한 모든 형제와 자매들을 당신 앞에서 기억하게 하옵소서.

특별히 이 밤에 커다란 시험을 당하고 있는 이들과 자기 힘으로는 감당할 수 없는 일을 당해 힘겨워 하는 이들과 빚이나 빈곤에 시달리는 이들과 지금은 후회하는 오래전 실수로 인해 큰 고통을 겪고 있는 이들과 자라온 환경이 불우하여 한 번도 인생에서 공평한 기회를 잡아 본 적이 없는 이들과 땅 끝 구석에 나가 있는 하나님 나라의 선교사들과 외롭게 진리의 등불을 치켜들고 있는 이들을 오 하나님, 이 밤에 제가 기억합니다.

사랑하는 모든 인류의 아버지,

저를 주님의 통로로 사용하여 주옵소서.

지금 저와 가장 가까이에 있는 이들의 삶과 가슴에 주님의 사랑과 긍휼을 전해 줄 수 있는 통로로 삼아주소서. 아멘.
